I cannot easly risk not having a full time job pillow, but I kinda want to start my own things going on the side I had the time in life, that proved to me, that I can earn x3 more on commissions, than a low wage, shitty job, that doesn’t respect me at all And that job broke me mentally to the point of quitting while not having any plan what to do and unpaid living expenses from last month I got same money (from a month of working) in a week just after quitting it After that - I never stay for long if I’m getting tricked or mistreated It allowed me to grow extremely quick and become a specialist Even tho it is still a full time job brThe power you have without a job is time And it may be a blessing or a curse All depends on how you can use it

I work 5/2 as a graphic designer Even though I love designing and I work from home I feel like a walking corpse after 4 years at my company I'm scared to imagine what it would be like if I had to attend the office I have zero energy after lunch already I take vacations throughout a year but it makes no difference The only vacation that actually let me rest took me a month (but I earned much less ofc)

I feel like there’s not enough accountability There’s jobs out there that give you so much flexibility with working hours, management that doesn’t breathe down your neck, and pay 6 figs You gotta set your life up properly I interviewed for 9 months before I left my previous position for a job that has unlimited pto, I work when I want (I do need to be at meetings during the day) but no one making sure I’m online or anything, pays 120k, is remote, and I’m 25 years old Now having a really technical background like myself helped me get here, if you don’t have one, BUILD ONE, learn technical skills like coding or whatever you’re interested in Practice interviewing, practice answering repetitive questions you hear at interviews It can be done man, people who have terrible 9-5 jobs put themselves in that position People just get any 9-5 job, not the RIGHT 9-5 job People get so discouraged now adays because they just give up a few years in I work maybe 30 hours per week, sometimes 50, sometimes 20, depends on what comes across my desk You can beat the system guys, stop letting it beat you

Something stupid I realised personally is that I am completely overstressed about time itself I had no idea why But genuinely There are 24 hours in a day The “half hour” that you get for lunch is insanely short Every second is going by way too fast We have a time system that is genuinely stressful at its core You have a 5 minute toilet break maybe, that goes way too fast I feel like if we 22 or 20 hours in a day, time would feel better The minutes wouldn’t go by so fast and the it wouldn’t feel like five minute is gone in a blink

Youre absolutely right and you can add the fact that most of the time those enviroments can be etremely harsh depending on wher you work in the world and your ethnicity etc, I have worked since I was 18 in the UK and iI have absolutely nothing to show for it Im from an art background and I did a few IT courses and now im trying to develop games on steam working from home
