The red stuff is natural toning from the copper that the coin is fused with for strength it's fine In fact it will likely tone more and be very well aged Your dealing with 100 year old 90 gold 10 copper circulated coins They are in great shape Don't freak out Comment from : @MrJimmyWiles |

red stuff is copper spots and can be removed by ncs The black stuff I've seen on my own $10 indian I haven't tried to take it off I wouldn't rub it I think its probably some rubber or something it came into contact along the way Comment from : @ikeo1 |

I've seen black buildup inside letters and intricate areas of old coins but that's on a flat surfacecan u gently rub it away without scratching the surface? the 2nd coin looks like copper spotting if u don't plan on grading I would try tinfoil, sodium bicarbonate and hotwater if it's copper it will gently be removed imo they're not grade worthy so I don't see why not? still very nice pieces Comment from : @knightrider693 |
