Just as a contrary view, active learning dosent work well for neuro-atypical/ASD students and can add extra stress to the class by adding a social and hierarchical element to the study It is actively trying to encourage system 2 thinking (which is most likely naturally already in excess), by encouraging a chaotic environment which in turn disrupts system 2 Comment from : @COM70 |

The killer is that teachers themselves are not encouraged or interested in learning new things, let alone spending extra time studying and practicing to improve their students' learning outcomes Comment from : @e-wanderer3317 |

Passive learning is boring Active learning is the best to learn something I guess At university, when teachers give us exercice and ask us questions/opinion, it gives skills to search/learn/try/ask/do/practice Good subject for this video ! Thanks ! Comment from : @leptitecran9067 |

This technique does not always work in all settings and in all disciplines all of the time For example, in the arts and writing classes, sometimes you need to work alone However, school leaders will often latch onto one or two popular teaching methods and expect teachers to apply this method every day to every discipline Also, school leaders will often pick and choose teaching methods tgat suit their own particular learning style instead of looking at which teaching methods are appropriate for different subjects Comment from : @kellyyork3898 |

i haven't had any good experiences with active learning the teachers often gave up after 1-2 attempts We students were overwhelmed when we were supposed to study this way for the first time and were too shy to discuss something with our classmates I think we were only 12 or 13 years old at the time government funding for these training courses was quickly discontinued because of such problems there was no time to try out this style for a long time the curricula are too big for that Comment from : @Goldzwiebel |

Active Learning in classes would mean teachers have to put in some effort to engage a class and work with the students In essence, a happy classroom The process becomes efficient over weeks thanks to neuroplasticity and compounding knowledge, making the job easier But instead of that they'd rather keep the class quiet and in check, 'disciplined' (or should I say suppressed), do all the toxic atrocities to 'manage'(should I say control) a student, waste effort achieve nothing, be incompetent and unproductive, for some job satisfaction and feel miserable all the same ; idiocy at its finest Comment from : @hebudileep6177 |
