housing prices makes me not want to have kids, I may own a home but if I have kids 25 years from now when even the most basic home is $1 Million dollars minimum you better like your kids because they will be living with you for the rest of your life Comment from : @reesercliff |

Having zero money, all these things are like heaven to me Comment from : @DrHuzeyfe |
It's hopeless I feel like as I have saved the prices go up faster than I can save and my savings is no good even though the amount goes up steadily Comment from : @kylecavenig4063 |

I genuinely mean it when I express my stress and concern regarding the market crash and high inflation, particularly in relation to my retirement I have been experiencing losses for quite some time, and while some may argue that crises can present opportunities, I am feeling overwhelmed However, I understand that investing is a long-term endeavor, and it is crucial to maintain focus on the bigger picture and the long run Comment from : @AudraZapoticky55 |
Inflation plus increasing demand for housing by letting millions of illegals over the border every year yeah no wonder a starter home is a pipe dream for anyone just getting into the housing market The only way you can afford these prices without saving for over a decade is if you already have equity Comment from : @carpediem5316 |
Dave is lying when he says there is a shortage of houses There are too many million dollar homes and not enough affordable ones Comment from : @willmitchell6521 |

Real estate > stocks Put most of your savings towards property and just make your employer's 401k match Comment from : @johnowens5284 |

Very simple, live dirt poor, extremely well below your means, save/invest and be patient However, most people live above their means and stupidly create debt Comment from : @CycleCruza |

I work in higher ed I teach an evening class (well the semester is finishing) Anyway, one student is in his low 20's He works as a radiation technologist (operating MRI's) He has an associate's and of course his license, and goes to class in the evening for his Bachelor's He lives at home, drives a simple car and spends like he has only pocket money A position like his easily earns 50K a year So he is essentially banking money Nice chap, good student and an eye-opener to me Passed the course naturally That is how you save Comment from : @mathisnotforthefaintofheart |
Single and still took me 9 years to save the 20 house deposit Made a lot of sacrifices from food, clothing and entertainment you just need to not care what anything thinks until you get there Comment from : @mikebarnes1239 |
Do van life and save the money you would have spent on rent- and pay cash for an older but reliable van PBJ and ramen noodles and beans and rice Just don't spend a damn cent that you don't have to Comment from : @christinebutler7630 |
My wife and I did it by living with roommates and simply prioritizing building the down payment fund over spending including birthday gifts, eating out, etc We also paid off our car during the same three years and this is in NYC with us making right around the median income for the city It's definitely possible with discipline Comment from : @jarodarmstrong509 |
House prices will come down People will be forced to sell Interest rates will continue to rise and job losses will increase It doesn't matter if you can increase the amortization period; if you don't have income you can't make payments Comment from : @obscureanalyst |

What are the baby steps? Comment from : @TimeisUp22 |

I can save The problem is I can’t buy a house because the only houses I can afford are tool sheds Comment from : @vangtk10 |

Right! Not bozos! Hahaha 😂 Comment from : @rbraxton00 |

Love how Americans complain about not being able to save for a house when in Australia the average price for a house is $800,000 and banks won't even look at you if you don't have a 20 deposit Let that sync in Average salary is still 70k, take that into account Comment from : @housamsowaid8986 |
Just put my first offer on a house… 10k over ask and 30 down… was outbid in NY… This market is crazy! Comment from : @NickFromLongIsland |
You can get a conventional mortgage with only 3 down Comment from : @frankhahne4195 |
In my area of Texas, the 20 down/15-year/25 take home pay guideline is absolutely unfeasible and unrealistic My wife and I took the risk at 10 down(VA)/30-year/33 take home pay and it got us in the cheapest house in the best neighborhood Today’s market does not allow Dave’s model to universally work Comment from : @GabrielMartinez-sd8pc |
Work 16 Hour Days, 7 Days a week, Eat Ramen noodles!!! It's what I did!!! Comment from : @fakeaccount4092 |
WellbrTurns out overall prices in the housing market have gone down due to interest rates going up This lowering of prices will continue and stabilize if interest rates keep going down I'm cool with waiting until Jerome Powell announces that rates won't keep going up Comment from : @johnathanvale8634 |
I started baby step 3b in December 2019 Still working on it Comment from : @iarchibeque001 |

I save 50 of my take home pay after 403b contributions 540 goes into my roth to max it out, that leaves $2500 to go into high yield savings and occassional stocks However i live on the west coast, so at the rate im saving it will take 5-10 years from now to be able to afford a house here Comment from : @ArtaxForever |
There is a shortage of affordable housing Comment from : @Jenda-ld8dj |

Dave's advice on house buying is insane! Do not buy! Wait, housing prices are going to crash! Dave do you actually look at what is going on! There are Thousands of houses for sale , almost 700 in my small community! They are not selling for a reson! Cause there is no demand and people cannot afford the interest rates! Wake up people stop listening to people who are part of the system! Comment from : @sirthecraftsman1998 |
I am saving for a home but I have to admit I feel so discouraged with the way things are in the housing market I feel like I have waited too late At this point, there is so much uncertainty Comment from : @Richqjourney |
Step 1 : live with parents until 23 or 24 maybe even 25 brbrStep 2 : save 20 down payment brbrStep 3 : buy house with money you would’ve wasted on an apartment simple as that Comment from : @Kylewraps |

Make 500k per annum Comment from : @mccoyji |
2:40brThere is not a shortage of housing, there is lots of cheap homes and land availablebrbrIts just that government regulation, and BS make those places not worth living there, or purchasing, and property taxes might be too highbr(Which I dont think they should exist)brHOA’s also ruin communities, and home sales XDbrAnd 90 of people are probably unable to just afford a house outright, or build one Comment from : @XFizzlepop-Berrytwist |

Average house in Ottawa is 800k I make 60k…in order to buy a house, I’m leaving Canada Comment from : @weskridge |
I get the interest rate argument for not waiting, but why not wait for the demand/supply dynamics to change? If supply is low in the market now, I don’t see why it’s an issue with waiting until they normalize Comment from : @brandsafetychris2215 |
It is super simple, get married and both get jobs One has thier check 100 invested in something semi safe The others income you use to live off of Within ten years you will have a paid off house and be used to living on 50 of the total incomeAlso likely to find a deal in that time that makes the several years as renters not hurt so bad Comment from : @brianwalker8759 |
I need to save $295,000 down-payment to buy a house with 15 year fixed and 1/4 of take home money Long road ahead! All this on one income alone 😔 and by the time I save $295,000 ill find out I actually need $395,000 😮 due to inflation Comment from : @armandoweckmann5699 |

The best way to save for a down payment is to live in a less expensive rental unitbrIt sounds like they are doing well but may be better to do more Roth investmentsbrIn some locations there may be some price reductions, but nothing like during the Bush/Obama crash from 2007 to 2012 Comment from : @miketracy9256 |
This guy's plan is fine But for sure make sure you are contributing to get a 401(k) match if applicable That's even before the Roth And you have until mid April next year to fund your Roth for 2023 Comment from : @robloxvids2233 |

Houses are on the market a long time here There are a bunch of factors contributing to this Over priced is part of it and undesirable elements is a lot of the rest of it The rest is high taxes for the area we are in Towns 25-30 miles either side of us have a much lower tax base and better job opportunities The undesirable element is the driving force keep business from locating in our area Comment from : @diceportz7107 |
Dumb question George “Why would that change” Seriously dude🙄 Comment from : @markvb5592 |

Success seems to be connected with action Successful people keep moving They make Mistake but they don’t quit As the economic crisis keep rising, we literally need to have different streams of income The crypto and stock market has plenty opportunities to earn a decent Payouts with the right skills and proper Understanding of how the market works Comment from : @holmesstanley899 |

Well I guess this is the new norm Work relocated me one year too late My friend I started my job with got to the location I’m currently at a year prior to me & purchased her newly built home for under 200k A coworker who now has to move away will be renting his home out for 2k because that’s how much SMALLER homes than his in the area are costing in monthly mortgage payments when a year or so prior it was around the $1,100 he pays My $1600 (1 bed less than 800 sq ft) rent is officially less expensive than a mortgage payment lol I guess I’ll enjoy all of my amazing amenities that come with my apartment (not sarcasm Love my place & neighborhood) & the sounds of a toddler running & his mom getting beat up by their dad above my head while I work on getting my 8k salary raise so I can prepare for buying my over priced house thats thrown together as well as gingerbread house Hopefully the prices don’t go up too much more by the time I get my raise at the close of the year Comment from : @kayw1771 |
And, shouldn't he call Churchill for his mortgage? 😂 Comment from : @JustinCase780 |
In some places the housing market has gotten softer than others So I don't think its accurate to say that housing is just going up in price A house across the street from my mom in Fla sold for $410K in March 2022 In April 2023 a very similar house on the same block sold for $355K after months on the market Each area is different People should do as much research as they can on the market in their area and not just assume that everything is priced too high Comment from : @RJRussoVids |
It depends, he never said how much down payment he'd put down or how expensive his future home is Comment from : @joeplem5329 |
I would like to know if Dave Ramsey would run for presidency or vice president? He know how to make financial success and what the government should be doing We could actually use a competent leader right now Comment from : @tomdillan |

I have a 1960's block home in PHX, I bought in 2011for $50KbrIn 2022, almost $500K, now $400KbrbrHouses do go downbrWhy would you buy an old home, when you could buy a New home for less?brbrIt was shortage that drove up the price Comment from : @aolvaar8792 |

People still out here buying houses with no money Most people don’t understand that owning a house is not just paying a mortgage A person has to pay for insurance (home and flood), Taxes, maintenance and etc Comment from : @jbarkley4938653 |
I’ve seen the younger guy I think he has his own channel What is his name? Comment from : @phalange1234 |
Has Dave ever explained what he means by a "good deal" on a house?brWould it be that he manages to get a house for a certain rough percentage under the assessment value? A certain percentage under the asking price (depending upon how close the asking price is to the assessment value)? What kind of discount does he expect when buying a house in cash? What does he consider to be an aggressive (meaning lowball) cash offer that would have some chance of getting accepted? etc Comment from : @6663000 |
People are really living in a dream world that the housing market is going to crash Instead of house is selling after a day or two on the market they're going to sit like they typically did for the last decade Instead of it's selling in 2 days it's going to be 2 to 3 months Interest rates will come down over the years but we won't see them at 2 to 3 like they were doing COVID Over the next few years I can see them coming down to 4 to 5 Comment from : @EricAndradeMusic |
0:22brSo the caller lives on the street? He said doesn't have a home, so he is homeless? A rental is a home What he means is doesn't have a house House is one kind of home, although they are used interchangeably 😂😂 Comment from : @stevenporter863 |

Houses are still selling in my neck of the woods A house on my block went for sale for $799k and sold in 3 days for $821k Comment from : @tl4633 |
Can't believe people are buying houses with these prices and these rates, too much money going to the bank and not the principal in the first 10 years You end paying like double for the house once the mortgage is paid off Comment from : @Ja50nkAt |
Prices are not coming down He's right about that We aren't building enough houses The greenies have invaded planning commissions and are too busy over zoning for condos, that no one wants Comment from : @flea4061 |
Interest rates aren’t going to 10 when the country has 32 trillion in debt That would be 3 trillion a year just in interest Will never happen Will see runaway inflation before that ever happens Comment from : @jamesmurphy3263 |
Home owners would rather see inflation out of control to keep their home prices inflated so they can keep borrowing against their homes Comment from : @Hightower613 |
