I have dyslexia and could not read through primary school It was very hard , after getting a lot of help in high school my dyslexia wasn’t detected in my test and they said “wow that improvement is amazing” I still do well now and I don’t struggle, all the learning everything was extremely helpful please never think about giving up

Or maybe the problem is with the lazy adult who doesn’t want to discipline and is distracted by their devices and pacifies their kids with those same devices rather than interacting with their children And learning “disabilities” seems to overlook the efficacy of the school and teachers communicating information while putting all the responsibility on the child

Although I think your first eight steps are important and helpful for ALL children, I am thankful that the two of my four children who had dyslexia were in a wonderful school system that directly addressed their specific reading disability with a special phonics program Although as you stated, being in a pull-out class was not good for them in other ways, it did help them catch up with their peers in reading skills before middle school I cannot over-stress the importance of hiring a tutor TRAINED in administering a dyslexia curriculum, or in insisting that you child receive a curriculum addressing dyslexia in school if you cannot afford a tutor

As someone with dyslexia, the affects in your videos make it really difficult to focus on what you're saying I'm not sure if other neurodivergent folks agree, but I'm noticing it for myself brI'm not sure if this video is aimed at only 'parents' with dyslexia, but dyslexics are watching and I wish the video was made to be easy to watch and not just overwhelming brI thought I'd let you know because this is probably information you would want to know I mean the best and I'm sure you do too

I'm 54 and I was diagnosed with autism and ADHD OCD and im pretty sure I have dyslexia I was diagnosed in first grade that with auditory and visual learning disabilities Life has been very hard for me and I needed help a long time ago and I still do need help I'm going through a lot and I have wanted a mentor I'm trying to get help now I don't know if I can get the help but I'm trying because I just want to do better for my I've never been able to go to college

The problem is that schools are already set up for girls anyway and girl don't have to be smart boys do or they will live in poverty girl will be taking care of and you just said boy get dyslexia way more we should be helping boys girl have thing in place so they are not homeless or and be taking care of by the government and by men women won't take care of men !

Happy feeling, good nutrition, and going to bed on time are all good advice but none will help dyslexia I was looking for real techniques and solutions you presented the idea of a reading program, which one? The best one is " DI Reading Mastery" Your video was a lot of talk about self esteem but real solutions need to be presented that is the root of self confidence not happy thoughts Sorry my opinion waist of time watching this presentation

Wish my parents had this information 30 years ago when I was diagnosed I did have teachers pick on me because I couldn't learn like the others and was often made to feel stupid No one really knew how to help me, so I never received any help and just had to do the best I could Thanks for the video
