What stands out to me about the Moneyball story is the way Beane and the A's took in a bunch of players that were overlooked by other teams for being past their prime, broken down or gimmicky Yes, they had Hudson, Mulder, Zito, Chavez and Tejada, but the other players like Hatteburg, Bradford, Rincon still played vital roles in getting the team as far as they did It's a great case study about going against coventional thinking and maximizing what you have
