Meanwhile my parents had been keeping their vinyls in a tote in their basement which floods every spring due to snowmelt All stacked on top of each other, 24 years later i buy a record player and my parents give them all to me Most of the cases had small bits of mold on them All the records play well and none are warped In summary dont worry about it too much The only thing these LPs werent subjected to was extreme heat That basement has probably never gotten above 75° Comment from : @finnie9223 |

ngl a big reason i got into cassette tapes is because with a good deck you can get the full "audible range" of performance out of it, with good tapes, good sources and again, a nice deck you've keep clean with a good head and low w/f brI can record a tape, and until it wears down, which is a long slow process for good tapes, it's literally just fine cared for the same way as a CDbrMy turntable is regularly defeated by dustbrI have pre recorded albums on cassette released in 1972 (Harvest, Neil Young) and it has some hiss yes, but also a good clear frequency response up to 17k brI have a jefferson airplane record from 1968, Crown of Creation, and it's worn down to a super crackle gravel road sound up to only 11k across the disk both sidesbrIt's so hard to like vinyl Comment from : @WalnutSpice |

Replace your needle as well when necessary If you lower the needle on the outer grooves and it slides, it's time for a new needle brbrAlso clean the dust off the needle and the record in between playings, especially if you're dealing with older used recordsbrbrMost times if an older record sounds like 'fried eggs' just toss it No amount of cleaning is gonna bring it back to life, and it's only gonna cause more damage to your needle Comment from : @louiebee6745 |
