Reading a passage a few times to fully grasp the understanding is totally relatable for me 😩😩it was also yes for me for quite a few of the items on his list 😢

Other than the creative spelling, I check all these boxes There are a few words I seem to never remember the spelling for, but overall I spell very well (which I attribute to receiving high quality early education) I've learned to cope with reading difficulties in my own way, and even though I DO need to re-read things often because it doesn't come out right the first time or two, I was able to persevere because I developed a huge love for reading in late middle school thanks to thriller and sci-fi novels I dropped out of high-school but eventually graduated college and am now an Elementary school teacher who LOVES teaching reading 📚

Spelling words, left and right mix up, couldn't tell time as a child, spelling awful, handwriting bad, terrified of getting lost, poor short term memory, anxiety,reading stuff that isnt there, letters that aren't there, mispronounce words, to name a few oh and no good at maths, just don't get it

I wish this was around 50 years ago, my life would have been different School for me was hell and I was just classified as being lazy and unmotivated Can't tell you how many times I was punished for poor grades I couldn't explain it as I didn't understand it

I read slow, I need to point at the sentence while reading, I frequently read titles wrong, I can't drive in town without getting lost, don't give me directions, I have trouble with N S E W, I count on my fingers, I can't follow verbal instructions and yes, I am now 56 but it has never affected my ability to learn, I just process information differently

I had 2 or 3…that didn’t fit me… So guess I am dyslectic :P I was testet at school, but I read to fast to be a dyslectic by the standards of that day So they just slapped a “generic writing difficulty” at me But according to my old teacher, I most definitely would have gotten the diagnosis if I was tested by the standards of today

I don't mix letters that much What really mix up in writing is words There is spelling Their which I flip to thier back and forth You instead You're is comon I quite often lock my bank card out by entering what I'm sure in PIN but mixed up the numbers Right number not right order and I'm sure I'm right but locked my bank account because of it Buying stuff online I mess up entering the credit card number all the time Might have to retry it 4 or 5 times Ha just caught one, I wrong comon when it should be common Probably few more in this that I might be missing

I was about 4-5 months behind in learning to read at the end of grade 3 I was better in math and science I read very slow but did "okay" So I got through school and have 2 degrees But in my late 60s and into my 70s I seem to be developing dyslexia Does that happen?

I was late diagnosed dyslexic (mid 50s) and it was one of the best things I ever did Not only did so much of my life and struggles make more sense, but the testing org also gave me counselling to help overcome the psychological damage left by being undiagnosed for so longbrDyslexia does bring problems, but also gifts that are worth celebrating

I answered yes to 9 questions but probably 11 but I have found a way around 2 of my issues I have gone through life thinking dyslexia is a learning problem and a reading problem brbrWell, I can learn and I can read so never in my wildest thoughts would I think I could have dyslexia I was just lazy and didn't try hard enough because I have some intelligencebrbr I diagnosed myself a few months ago but feel it is 60 yrs too late I think calling it a learning disorder or problem does a disservice to all the undiagnosed although education facilities these days know what to look for

9 out of 11 Not to bad I am 61 when I went to school I was just pushed through never new what was wrong but I was always good with my hands I was always great at fixing things my mind has to know how things work and I ended up as a matinice man in a machine shop and a machinist I could not read the books on the machine but I could tear it apart and fix it every time But the biggest trouble I had was numbers like 1234 I would see 1243 or 1324 or 1432 and so on I would have to check it 3 or 4 times My boss is the one that told me what I had after 20 years of working with him you learn to hide a lot of things because I thought I was a idot and was embarrassed

All of those are signs of dyslexia that being said you can be dyslexic in a few areas and these questions are heavily weighted toward people who have read as their primary form I have spelling and handwriting as my primary forms and I only answer yes to 3 I was actually given the wrong set of tests the first time I was tested, so I failed The second time when I was given the right tests I passed Maybe in the future you could make a new video that has more questions There also a lot to be said about the relationship between dyslexia and dysgraphia I have both
