It seems to me that you said as long as you anchor to the root and keep the shape it will work the same but the shape for C was different from the shape on the A scale 5th string? So I’m confused

You don’t give a clue as to which fingers play which strings/frets … you only tell us which strings/frets to play, not which fingers - I can try to rewind to see which fingers play which strings/frets, but you’re not teaching me!
