Playing with a backing track is so much more fun than a metronome It took me a few days to be able to keep up with the track, but damn did it feel good when I nailed it

I am 4 months into guitar and I am now playing lead for my school bandbrI used to learn through tabs but when I learned the major scale or brDo re mi fa so la TI dobrI learned how to play songs by ear and I am now learning most of my songs by earbrbrThe song I'm learning for my school band is actually the first song I completed by listening to it by ear rather than tabsbrEdit: the only reason why i did this song without tabs is becuase whenever i try reading the gabs on that song it confused me so i just listened to it and slowly learned the song

I just got my beautiful black strat today and I can't put it down After struggling on an old ass acoustic with the neck almost coming apart and the strings at about 1 cm away from the fret board (yes, it was extremely painful) holding this darling and presing on the strings feels so effortless Its literally 2 am, I'm in bed with my brand new guitar watching this and playing along (without an amp, the neighbours can thank me for that) and I'm so excited
