I really enjoyed this video! I appreciate how you've incorporated music theory into the lessons I can play a two octave scale and even a three octave scale but I wouldn't consider myself to be an expert I would like to see the topic of harmonics included since that is essential for playing Jaco Pastorius' music I'm a double bassist learning to play the electric bass and I enjoy playing melodies and classical music on the electric bass but I can appreciate that many people want to play basslines in bands Great curriculum!

My knowledge is so gappybrI have a musical background, bass is not my first instrument brSo i know theory, rhythms and that stuffbrbrI went to classical guitar lessons for like a year… 5 years ago so that probably helpsbrbrI go to flute and violin lessons currently brI do not physically have time for any more lessons 😭😭 but i want to take like a month or 2 of lessons for bass/guitar during summer when there’s more timebrGl to mebrbrI love these videos they are so good, i feel like they will help me with all my instruments brbrBut i ignore the easy bass lines cos I’d rather play what i like 👀 (system of a down) maybe i shouldnt do that but i feel like i would not be as motivated

For most western music, the only modes you need to know are Ionian (the major scale), Dorian (minor scale with one note changed), Mixolydian (major scale with one note changed) and Aeolian (the natural minor scale)

Your easy songs are too hard Your Spotify list for easy songs is too hard You should have songs that an absolute beginner who never in their lives have put their fingers on a musical instrument can play You don't relate to absolute beginners with no talent You should stop concentrating on easy riffs and start on very easy songs Absolute beginners need success and a repertoire Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Something in the way, Hello and Come Sail Away with me are all slower and easier Not that I can play them, but after hundreds of hours of searching for songs for absolute beginners I can say that they are easier and slower than anything you suggest Tempo alone should be a telltale sign for you

@BassBuzz - I just purchased a short scale bass I am play ukulele but bought a short scale bass to learn that I want to incorporate in my uke group Anyway, I have a Positive Grid Mini that works fine for my ukuleles But, I am curious what bass amp would you recommend I do not want to break the bank but curious if there is something better for bass than my Positive Grid? The most important stage here is your bass should be set up Such as action (string height) and intonation (is it in tune up the neck Different than normal tuning) otherwise you may pack in pretty quickly
