I am considering going to Tamu to study mech engineering, but out of state tuition is steep and I am poor I have heard that the aggie network is a good resource to help get a job and their are plently of opportunities to get an internship there Its just the outrageous cost of going there is what is holding me up, it a cool school but it doesn't seem worth it considering the ROI, but I am a kansas resident and I want to get out of kansas and see more of the world

Very few engineers, scientists, etc become rich You have to be selling something to be rich such as a widget, retirement plans, etc All of which carry much less endearment in the heart of the public

It can It has There are deterministic and random aspects to business The deterministic aspect could be within your control The random aspects are not There is risk of failure Most A students are highly risk adverse You have to learn to live with failure This doesn't give you a license to be sloppy The failures should be the minimum that probability theory allows This is a bit like card counting in blackjack You need to be near perfect to succeed You are using money to make money If you have to borrow, that puts a floor under your minimum return Borrowed money and people are leverage Psychology and sociology are important aspects of management Controlling people Motivating, intimidating and bullying subordinates is the part of the job Every person's self-interest is likely more important that their shared corporate interest Symbolic processing is another part of the job You get reports in and send reports/commands out You would get a spot of grease on your suit if you went out on the factory floor That would lower the perception people have of you The higher up you go in the organization, the more authority the person has The less actual domain knowledge that person has Quite the conundrum

Nice video I became a millionaire at the age of 35, while working as a civil/structural engineer My wife stayed at home and raised our three kids along the way, so we were able to do this on a single income Real estate investing and good timing had a lot to do with reaching that milestone It's not easy, but can be done

I really hesitate beetween enginneering and médecine On the one hand enginneering gives me a little more hope because they have the capacity to totally revolutionnise the entire world and solve amazing problems Doctors have their possibility too altough they are part of the healthcare system and its technically the surest way to become a millionnaire and become also an entrepreneur with clinics and cabinet possibilities For now I might go as a chemical engineer because it have endless possibility to résolve huge healthcare probelms (biotechnology) and environnemental too Your degree is also great and I see wonderful opportunities in robotics and AI
