Dave doesn't quite realize what the woman is describing here The 529 college savings account isn't even her money It's savings that the child's real father put into that account, in order to give her a better future The mother never even funded the 529 She wouldn't be using her own savings, she would be using the money that the child's real father saved for her And she wouldn't be using it to pay the IRS She would, but really, she would be using it to finance her party lifestyle that she's been living all these years

The IRS won't usually put a tax lien on you until you owe over $50K This is info directly from an IRS agent at Centralized Lien Operation from Nov 2022 If you're concerned about a federal tax lien from tax debts, make sure to call the IRS Centralized Lien Operation line BEFORE agreeing to any payment arrangements

My parents had to sit down with me and tell me they could not afford to pay for my education when I was a junior I wanted to study accounting She was already paying for my eldest brothers medical school (he’s an international student studying in US, so out-of-state), and my sister just got into med school so community college wasn’t an option for her Hard for me to be mad when I could clearly see my parents were deeply upset about it,brbrLucky for me, I ended up getting a miracle scholarship to in-state school Took a LOT of research to see which schools had scholarships I qualified for I found out certain ACT/GPA gets automatic scholarships, did work part-time for extra money, and gave up my dream out-of-state school
