If you invest the difference of what you would’ve put toward your mortgage wouldn’t you have a better return since mortgage rates are at all time lows? I have a half million in stocks and a new 148k dollar mortgage at 32 APR doesn’t it make sense for me to invest since I’m getting the tax write off plus I’m investing the difference and getting better returns The only downside is I’m taking on risk vs a guaranteed savings by paying down mortgage correct?

I think the actual issue with John is if you aren't fed up with debt, you continue to take out more debt and make payments Many commenters are much more optimistic on their assessment - John will pay off his car and his credit card and never take out debt again But in reality, that tends to not be the case for most people Most people are either "never pay payments again" people or "payments allow me to afford the life I want" people

I am following the Ramsey method and it's working great I enjoyed this video and got more out of it that watching Ramsey yelling and telling people they are stupid I can only hear the word "shut up" coming out of someone's mouth so much His method works, but I have never won anyone to my side by yelling at them, telling them they are stupid or shouting "shut up" at them

This is great advice for people in debt , but the actual problem people have with money is getting in debt in the first place Nobody should ever get into debt It's people's greed of wanting things they cannot afford, which gets them in this situation
