So why am I not finding coinsurance plans for my dental coverage? The dental clinic asks "What is your coinsurance?" And in fact, I had never even heard the term (I'm age 70 and have been insured all my life, dealt with lots of ins companies etc)! Sounds like a new linguistic flimflam to me I see there's a company with dental coinsurance plans for employer/employee groups Last visit, I had to pay quite a sum, since I had no coinsurance, was clueless about it The plan said I would only pay $8000, for a $1,60000 root canal procedure But because I had no coinsurance, I was still billed over $80000!
