When this song came out, I was in my very early 20s Now, in 2025, I'm in my early 50s I always loved the song but now as I've grown older and have the experience of hindsight, I have a greater appreciation for what this song means Time matches on and waits for no one Looking back with fond memories, usually through rose colored glasses, is something that we all do It's important to remember that we live in the here and now not yesterday The past is a guide of were we came from It's not a place to live That's what today is for Best wishes and God bless RIP Eddie

When he sings that chorus one last time at the end, it chokes me up, and once on stage doing karaoke, I tried to hit this song just right but ended up choking right at that part His music was so special He knew what musical undertones and grooves moved people while telling a story about life that anyone could relate to Definition one of the greatest from that era IMO So glad he never became a cop like his Dad or we would've never had these special songs of his in our lives RIP Eddie M
