Eddie had a heart as big as all outdoors We grew up in neighborhoods not too far from each other's He in Levittown and me in Brentwood Even though he went to the west coast to make his mark, everyone on Long Island always claimed him as our own Always put on a great show Always the first artist to show up and do a show for charity to help others Every dollar collected for post concert meet and greets went to help veterans in trouble The love from the music community at the announcement of his death was amazing People like, Sammy Hagar, Eddie Trunk, Kid Rock, REO Speedwagon, Jason Bonham, Ace Frehley and others all paid tribute Never had a big ego or was on a star trip even though his accomplishments were many He was always happy on stage and you could see and feel it I think the world is a little better because he spent some time in it

I was 9yrs old when this came out in the Summer of 1978 I would go with my dad everyday to his auto repair shopThey were the best days of the best Summers any kid could ask for brbrNo matter what was going on at the shop, my dad always made time for me Even if it was just 10 or 15 mins of throwing the baseball back and forth, or going across the street to grab lunch at the diner brbrYou could offer me all the riches in the universe for those moments, and I wouldn't think twice to say no I miss my dad, and I would give just about anything, to be able to walk into his old office and see him sitting there dealing with all the various characters that passed through a day in the life of his shop I tell myself that God needed a 1st class mechanic I love you, dad
