Haven't people realized yet that those who buy the X100VI aren’t looking to swap lenses? They want a high-quality compact camera without the hassle Sure, an interchangeable lens system is more versatile, but that’s not the point of a fixed-lens camera—the experience is different Comment from : @vserci |
What camera are you shooting this video with? great quality Comment from : @stephaniet3857 |
I respectfully disagree with the characterization of the X100 series as a "point-and-shoot" The photographer has full control of focus and exposure, right down to full Manal mode The leaf shutter, built-in ND filters and onboard flash afford opportunities for silent shooting and creative lighting that no focal plane shutter camera canbrbrI owned an X100s for a while I spent a month in Chicago with it when I had to go there suddenly and unexpectedly on family business My carry-on bag was a Domke Reporter's Satchel containing the camera, batteries, charger, memory cards, cleaning cloth and dust brush A notebook, toothbrush, change of underwear, and rain jacket filled out the rest I kept a 1/4 CTO gel taped over the onboard flash Comment from : @darylnd |

I absolutely wish I could own a Fuji xs20! Comment from : @corykphotography |

Can you recommend a good point and shoot camera for concerts? low lighting with no flash photography allowed? Comment from : @hotchocolatekiss4078 |
really helpful video , thanks so much ! Comment from : @cartinofmilk |
is the xm5 good? Comment from : @neboutsuki |
"Giving up a few little things"? Sorry, but IBIS, 40 vs 20 megapixel sensor, a very nice viewfinder with 3 modes and a full metal body instead of metalic painted plastic is not "a few things" I am currently trying to decide on which camera to buy and I've yet to hear a good argument against the x100vi except the not-exchangeable lens Comment from : @KittehBit |
Should have added the x-pro2 as an alternative, much better shooting experience Comment from : @TheKeithEds |
Xt1,t2,t3,t4 not good for video, because of autofocus issuesin foto they do much betterim not recommend Fuji for video because of Fuji autofocus system maybe xt6 fix it we will see Comment from : @Sergejs-g5j |
Great video! I'm thinking about bying the x100vi this summer You made many great points, but in the end I realised why i got so excited about this camera in the first place and that's because I really enjoy the thought of not being able to make the picture "perfect" by using zoom I only own a canon 6d mark ii with a 70-200mm lens, which is really great during events etc but still I want this camera And that's because I enjoy taking pictures in the moment, getting real emotions and colours, and most of all not having to edit a picture too much Comment from : @j4sp3rd51 |
Second hand X-T20 or 30 (over even better X-T2), second hand 18/2, 27/28 and 50/2 Sorted! Comment from : @dwbonbon3370 |
I don’t think any of the alternatives you suggested to the 100 x vi have a built nd filter ? Another advantage to getting one and carrying less gear 🙂 Will try out 23mm all the time on my dslr before investing Also it doesn’t come with a charger Comment from : @redrobin1129 |
It's not about price and spec, it's about shooting experience And there is no 35mm f20 lens of same size as on x100vi Comment from : @sohrubjoshi5189 |
I got an canon m50 Comment from : @JNB-jiggin |
I think both the Fuji X20 and X30 are great, more appropriate alternatives because not everyone likes to be burdened with the cost of extra lenses and carrying them around Comment from : @George-w8j8o |
People like Fuji, their line of cameras is amazing Comment from : @Joshua-dw8wu |
I got the x-e4 Comment from : @diba4645 |
My emoji said it all ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Comment from : @Moon-dm4ro |
When I saw the price of the X100vi I thought to myself nah, I'll just get the TTArtisan 27mm pancake, stick it on my eleven year old x-t1, and save myself a hefty chunk of money to spend on something I actually need 🤔 Comment from : @thewildgoose7467 |
Mark, I own the Fujifilm X-T50, and I’ve been debating whether to get the X100VI for my travels instead of my XF 23 mm f/2, but you’ve convinced me otherwise Can you recommend a solid pancake lens around the 18-27mm APS-C focal length? I tried the XF 27 28 but was trying to find something with at least a 20 max aperture Thanks! Comment from : @jpl980 |
I bought a used X-T3 back in 2020 I absolutely LOVE the camera!! It's really good for the price point for me I even shot my first short film on it! Comment from : @VAdrianPalacios |
LUMIX GX85 Comment from : @intraw831 |

please make a video on affordable fujifilm camera series Comment from : @hiyaworld2170 |
Surprised you didn't include the OM5 in there (and maybe the upcoming OM3 that we'll find out about very shortly) ! OM5 : beautiful retro look, small & light, proven 20mp sensor, brilliant tiny (f14, f18) lens options Add film presets in post (they have some in camera but meh) Comment from : @kevinharding9361 |
Thanks Comment from : @robertobellezo486 |
I still want this camera despite not knowing a single thing about photography Comment from : @notyourmomma7663 |
I still want the X100VI lol and for all the reasons u listed :D I def just wanna upgrade from a phone Comment from : @ev6ry |
40MP and IBIS is cool, but I’m seeing it at $2,000 on eBay and I think it’s too much Specially to be stuck at 35mm Comment from : @leocasi405 |
I have the first type of the fuji x100 and stil using it as aperfect point and shoot camera, easy to take with me ans for wider angle photo's I use multiple pictures wjich i stich togetherbrPerfect camera for walking and hikingbrSo there are verygood reasons for this camera It is very durable also Comment from : @geriebosman |
After wathching tons of 100VI now with your video i realize a "little" thing 100VI has no capacity of change lens! No way! I´m into change to exclusively street photography, will sell my nice D750 and all equipe related to, and I was pointing to go to 100VI since now! Thank you very much! I apreciated a lot Comment from : @Maufer77 |
There are at least a half dozen points in this video when making comparisons you talk about the look or the vibe of the camera body Cameras as a fashion accessory make me sad As a long time Fuji owner, I miss the Zack Arias days shooting with the X-Pro1 I miss the OG X100 days when you could walk into your local camera shop, geek out with the employees, and walk out with one for less than a kidney I'm not at all about gatekeeping access to the tools needed to create art, but it's sad when what should be an incredible entry point to photography is made completely inaccessible by social media influencers using an incredible tool to shoot duck face selfies Comment from : @RandyJacobson |
What do you recommend for a person that wants a basic camera for travel?? Comment from : @sofiapena4037 |
Hi Mark, brbrI've watched all your videos – they're great! I need a camera for indoor teaching (whiteboard and me) My budget allows for the Sony a7 III (€1150), a7C (€1400), or ZV-E10 (€650) Which, with what lens, would be best? Or should I just use my iPhone 15 Pro?brbrThanks! Comment from : @abdulrhmanqotb9408 |
I bought the original Fuji x100 and found it severely limiting so I returned brMark is absolutely right the camera is overhyped It's only for people that can afford to splash on a very expensive compact camera as a second camera Comment from : @argentum3919 |
Nice video and all, but affordable? None of theses options are affordable if they are pretty much the same price as the Fuji X100VI Comment from : @Red_Doomer |
I think for some people like me, who used to shot Provia and Velvia it is kind back to 90's with a digicam Comment from : @aakama |
You got your tooth removed in Vegas right ? Last I saw you was in hangover Comment from : @AmanOberoiX |
Well he doesnt recommend a direct use case competitor which is annoying Comment from : @Pirake123 |
My first camera was the Fujifilm X100T I bought back in 2017 The rangefinder style of the camera and ergonomics of it a HUGE part of what made me fall in love with photography Photography has been paying the bills since 2020, and I don’t know if I would be saying the same if the X100T didn’t get me hooked Is the XT30ii a better buy spec/versatility wise over the X100VI ? Yes, of course, BUT being stuck with one fixed lens , the beauty of the camera, and the absolute joy of handling a X100 camera makes it my number one pick for anyone’s first camera It was a breeze learning photography on the X100 due to the tactile iso/shutter/aperture controls It kinda makes me sad I can’t get my hands on a X100VI , let alone a X100V because of the social media hype, but I’m glad Fuji is getting the business/recognition they deserve The X100 series is the most innovative, iconic digital camera since the inception of digital cameras It’s the bridge between the past and the future and I will always love the X100 series Just looking at one in person always makes me smile Comment from : @nateportillo |
Thank you so much for breaking this all down I am a novice and want to invest in a Fuji; this was great! Comment from : @melinajones |
I bought an X-T4 over a year ago One of my favorite purchases ever! Comment from : @netnavi2k |
What compact camera would you recommend for street photography under $500? Comment from : @boolbara |
the size difference is completely different though lol Comment from : @Willopo100 |
No mention of daylight flash with leaf shutter in the "who the X100VI is for" segment? Comment from : @problemat1que |
I’ve been using the Fujifilm xe3 with the 18mm f2 Fujinon for several years and it’s quite the rig I also exclusively use the EVF Perfect for street photography Comment from : @markjarrett9794 |
great video Comment from : @silverfireorder |
I wouldn’t buy x100vi even if it is available at original price Comment from : @BBnose |
No, having access to interchangeable lenses is NOT an essential feature if you are new to photography Such an odd claim In fact, learning to use the X100 set to manual and walking to your shots is a far better way to learn about the fundamentals of photography Comment from : @ukejon |
It is so ridiculous how overpriced these things are These older cameras should be $200 but this hype train is just too strong There are other brands that can do similar things I would love a Fuji but I am definitely not jumping on this hype train Comment from : @liamlogan669 |
The inflexibilty of Fuji's X100 series is exactly what I like It has made me a better photographer Comment from : @chrisschepper9312 |
buy the Fuji fixed lens - especially if you are not a professional - there is something to be said about simplicity especially if the photos and video are great Comment from : @cafeapaka7501 |
No one of the proposed cameras instead of X100VI has optical viewfinder For me it is the baseline EVF ruins the vision in long term Comment from : @turaniatok |
Hi Mark, I’m going to be travelling around South America for 6-12months I’m already going to be hauling around an action camera & mini drone for some action shots etc I’ve been considering the X100VI, mostly because I don’t know a lot about photography, but I want to learn and take some cool scenic, urban and possible close portraits etc What would you recommend? I note you mentioned the XT-30ii - am I going to end up needing/lugging 5 different lens around with me as well? Or can I build a simple 3 lens kit? Comment from : @nzhiker |
Camera Industry is dying and only professional photographers are carrying it now Comment from : @Redcliff123 |
I was just tired of carrying around all my lenses, changing them all the time to take photos I just wanted a point and shoot and the film simulation was an added bonus which allowed me to sell my Yashica T4 Comment from : @breezyflow1 |
My main problems with alternatives : focal lenght of 28 instead of 20 is really weak point for low light conditions, and weathersealing Comment from : @benitobanana3943 |
None of the others will fit in my front pants pocket Comment from : @EricWeberGoogle |
The funny think is that the original Sony A7 is the smallest ful frame and its the best camera for manual focus lenses currently Its as small as those Fuji cameras Comment from : @veselingramatikov |
I bought into the hype But the problem is I’ve been trying to get one for 8 months now, and I feel like after all this work I need to complete the mission Although I’ve wasted so much time trying to locate one Comment from : @pete6705 |
the X100vi has a 40mp sensor, compared to a 26mp in the others you've shown That gives the x100vi images a little more room for cropping than on the other two cameras Comment from : @timoteo6687 |
Damn I felt bad about having a Gfx 50r & X-H1 and wanting a x100vi haha my guy over here with 15 camera bodies 😂 Comment from : @calebzkoerner |
Missing the point The X100 looks like a Leica Comment from : @gerardowmby7156 |
This video helped me a lot! Thank you 🙏🏻 Comment from : @lorenabarros9327 |
Sorry, but its really confusing without any onscreen text, graphic when someone is comparing things and not just one, but so many different models Comment from : @vishal-gupta |
It's impossible to beat the hype now All the small cameras are awfully expensive The X-T50 is the alternative if you want a good, affordable Fuji Comment from : @kkfoto |
thanks man, was looking to get one and was overwhelmed with the investment Comment from : @hari-po1fv |
why friend doesn’t want to change lens Comment from : @bsmacutevision |
Outstanding Comment from : @srlkngl |
Not affordable to me lol Comment from : @oscars4107 |
For me the X-E4 or the X-E3 are the natural alternative I have both the X100V and the X-E4 The X-E4 is my backup camera for landscape the camera I use for travel The X100V is my choice for street and family and I just love to use the OVF And because I had the X100, X100S, X100T and X100F I just don't seem to be able to sell this one yet :) Still I agree with you, both X100V and X100VI are overpriced currently but my choice would be the X-E4 or X-E3 Comment from : @joaoscardoso |
I have my X100s and X100vi, X100vi ibis is very useful in low light and low shutter speed traveling EDC camera Comment from : @hughsydney2620 |
The best alternative is the X100S Its the most similar in what matters, for a fraction of the price Comment from : @sakules |
Great alternatives I think people who buy the x100 series like the rangefinder look, so I would say a great alternative to the looks and functionality for a good price is the xpro 2 Has the hybrid viewfinder Great xt2/xh1 gen sensor, cheaper than the x100v/vi, and you have the option to interchange lens or stick the 22 mm on there and keep it on the xpro 2 forever and you have a x100 series camera Comment from : @Curryjuice02 |
I have an old epson rd1 it's all I need and 61 mp is very low for today but the images look sharp and crisp to me on my 4k monitor Comment from : @henryofskalitz2228 |
Thanks for the analysis! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase (behave today finger ski upon boy assault summer exhaust beauty stereo over) How should I go about transferring them to Binance? Comment from : @MarisaEsty |
But they are not range finders 😔 Comment from : @Puntonghua |
And please bring to a new video the comparison between the Fujifilm v100xi and the Leica Q2 or even the Q3 Comment from : @simplexxxreg |
I am professional photographer and I just use the x100vi Great for street photography The fact of having a fixed lens means it becomes very specific and help you to find your identity as a photographer Comment from : @simplexxxreg |
Thank you so much for this! Comment from : @nikoniteo |
Thanks for the forecast! Could you help me with something unrelated: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay) How should I go about transferring them to Binance? Comment from : @SarleyPlesnarski |
Really dont understand why people is crazy about x100v x100vi, they re big, thick, heavy, chunky, fixed lens, unreal expensive used price, not in stock all the time Fuji is just playing trick Comment from : @UP209D |
3 affordable camerasbrCheapest camera is $900brSigh Affordable means everyone can buy one I'd have to save up for MONTHS to buy this Get back to me when they're between $100-300 brand new Comment from : @Habitt5253 |
140 different lenses Really ?! Comment from : @bobjones6174 |
Thank you this was video was really helpful 😊 Comment from : @karenmullins408 |
Remember with the Fujifilm X100VI you get one lens One lens! It's probably okay for someone who just shoots for the heck of it, but I prefer a camera that I can change lenses on As a former photojournalist I would have missed a ton of great shots if I was restricted to one lens There's nothing more frustrating than seeing a great shot and having a lens on a camera that will not get you the shot you need Comment from : @guyphoto9437 |
xe4 Comment from : @Rahul-g8x |
The price is crazy honestly Comment from : @valendis |
