When I went to Paris several times the only place I went to eat was a obscure little couscous joint And that only once I am so terminally cheap that i bought wine in a box at a grocery store, a roast chicken, bread from a boulangerie, cheese and dried sausage at a market and ate in my hotel room I admit on one trip I did go to an actual restauant at mid-day and had the plat for about 1200 Euros

I agree with most of your points except for transportation Uber is very useful to get around Paris especially if you have a family or group of people With UberX most trips around Paris are under 20 euros and you will often save a lot of time It's not bad even for going to Versailles, which can run 40-80 euros depending on the time A mistake we made was to take an official taxi from Orly to Paris and the driver ripped us off claiming his credit card machine wasn't working and demanded $75 cash Should have called Uber instead and got a price upfront

I just returned from Paris and I feel the whole trip was a waste of money The weather was cold, balmy , grey skies,wet and the streets were dirty and it seemed nothing was maintained Even my hotel wasn't up to par Oh how photos and descriptions can be deceiving I got sick the second day I was there and it just wasn't an enjoyable trip The only thing I did enjoy was seeing the Eiffel Tower, Notre Damn and the Louvre Museum I would would never recommend to go during the winter months

One common scam I've seen in multiple countries is offering to bill your credit card in your home currency Don't let them do that Tell them to bill you in euros just like the natives, and your bank will give you a much better exchange rate than the store (unless you have the worst bank in the world, I guess)
