no you should use your investments to fund your downpaymentthe markets are so high right now and will only go higher and higher no point in wasting the opportunity in savings for example i have over 350k in my portfolio but only around 3k in my savings and checking account to pay for basic bills each monththis is the ideal strategy for long term wealth creation

Don't give up the match if there is any, at least keep that much investment going There are some provisions for withdrawing $10k from a 401(k) or 403(b) for a first time homebuyer, so you could at least invest enough to grow to build up to that amount
