I once lived through a 3 months audit of a factory with some 1,200 employees It was a very detailed task in which our management was very engaged and we ended up five years later being the no 1 in our technology (from rank 5 out of 6 major suppliers)brDoing such audits can surely help to cut cost and be more efficient but it takes time and knowledgable consultants and managementbrI cannot see that currently in the US
