Life is expensive in Canada as it is and I have people coming to my door asking money for charities no thanks If the government really cared for people in need they would be helping all the people on the streets Hospitals, and the government makes so mu c money from our taxes way don’t they donate to charities I have to pay such high taxes and on top of that I have to be obligated to give money …… There is so much fraud going on as is

lol not if you donate to your own charitable organization or trust if you own it you killin it especially if you get a loan on the money you donated you just doubled your money AND saved on personal taxes

thank you for the clarification and addressing misconception So, it seems like from a tax point of view, you have no advantage to make charitable contribution In fact if you are doing standard deduction, you are making charitable contribution after the tax fron your own pocketthat's just a sad IRS policy

I donated clothes to Goodwill My receipt was $500 It's definitely worth looking into how charitable donations can offset your taxable income I have medical bills too
