 This video must be out of date now I believe they are not allowed to cut you off between 2pm Friday and Monday 10am if your meters run out of credit during this time This gives you plenty of time to get to the shop to top up or when you receive your benefit monies on Monday

 If you go into debt ask them to fit a prepayment meter before they threaten to apply for a warrant to fit one at your expense you end up paying for a warrant fitting and locksmith approx £200 and pay to take it out again if you want s normal meter back

 Emergency electricity credit on a British Gas meter is only used to pay for electric used not standing charge or debt which you'll have to catch up paying when you next top up
