I must admit i have had a pre payment meter for years and never had a problem plus if you find yourself short it does give you the option of using the £10 emergency

They say we are in a energy crisis why are energy companies profits going up so quickly and prepayment meters are another way to increase there profits why does it cost more when you pay for some thing before you have used it i don't go to the supermarket and give them a handful of cash a week before i go shopping Since the privatisation of energy its just been another way to rob the working man and even more stupid that these companies are owned by foreign countries

My smart meter hasn't given correct reading for 3 months,phoned British gas & silly bint said don't worry we are getting correct reading, couldn't get through to silly cow , that's great but not much good to me as I don't know what I'm using till bloody bill arrivestossers

I can not get British Gas to stop providing Gas to mebrI rejected a standing charge for my account as it would take my bill and increase it by 1000 taking from £12 to £132 a yearbrEven though told to cut me off they refused as they want the standing charge money which I have refused to pay

It is unfair that those who pay by DD pay less for the same amount of energy than a pre-payment customer, after all the energy company are getting their money before goods are used Also it is the lower waged that are on pre-payment so in affect a DD customer are getting a discount because they can pay in a lump sum

The whole estate I live on has prepayment meters as it is meant for people with little disposable income/debt defaulters and is council housing A little while ago we had a couple of lads come round touting for business for Scottish Power The first thing they asked me was if I had a 'smart meter' which I replied no Good, they said, they're effin useless! As I was happy with my current supplier I declined their offer to swap as I knew that SP couldn't connect to my existing meters anyway

If you are classed as vulnerable, disabled you, they are not allowed to put a key meter in your property that was a part of the charter When they took control of the power companies it is highly illegal for them to put a key meter in a vulnerable household stand up for your rights people

Do not fall for your energy companies bullshit letter that your meter maybe faulty so we may need to install a new smart meter as I an several other ppl I know have had the same letters, it's just an excuse to install a smart meter in which is smart for them but certainly not for you

I never understood how ofgem have always allowed to charge more on prepaid, I understand a discount for direct debit vs being billed after usage, basically for getting money in advance and regularly, however if this is the case it should apply to prepaid as well, consumers are virtually lending money to the energy companies and at the same time are penalised for the privilege; I never heard of a bank having to pay a borrower to lend them money

Once your on pay as you go they won't let you change,had awful experience with ovo/boost,cutting our gas off over weekends,no way to top up etc,forced to have smart meters,given wrong top up codes,took weeks to get money back,hours on phone,apps don't work,charged 89p per day regardless if gas is on or off
