Starting at 12:15, the concept that the US government has a trust fund that they are investing in that is generating real returns is a deeply stupid idea, since this trust fund is simply invested in US treasury bonds This trust fund is owned by the US government and is made up of bonds that have to be paid by itself to itself The trust fund ceasing to exist will do nothing and it is not currently an investment in any tangible sense It is just a trick of accounting

I’m on Social Security and Medicare The thing that happens is yes we got a three point whatever percent increase last year but my Medicare part B payment also went up by $60 a month more than my cola so I actually took a $60 a month cut I literally made best decisions when i started working with an advisor
