In our town we have Murphy's Gas (Walmart) and Caseys mainly but we have 2 family owned gas stations and they are $060 cheaper than the other 2 stations Currently Murphy's is $429 and Caseys is $430 but the family owned (Snappy Mart) is sitting pretty at $365

It's the same idea of movie theaters, they usually don't make money on Tickets cause they have to pay to use the movie in the theater, but obviously they have HUGE markups on the candy, popcorn, soda ETC

What is interesting is the stations that do not have convenient type stores? How do they make the money? Being a "NON-SELF SERVICE" state they all have employees to cover We have several stations that are just pumps and an attendant, they sell nothing? These are usually larger companies, Shell, Exxon or Mobile, but still, they have nothing in the way of other sales? How do they profit? Thanks for the information - always good to see the logic behind business models
