What about learning about your own culture in the target language?? That way it's way easier to fill in the gaps of the words we don't know cause the context is super familiar

What I realised is that my reading skills are good, but I struggle so much with listening on almost all languages Definitely something I have to work on more, I just don't know how

Steve what do you think of watching English series/movies on Netflix with subtitles in the target language I am at around a B1 level in French and I’ve found this technique very helpful with better expressing myself by learning new words and phrases

History is great, I've been writing the history of France in French Im around page 110 and I've drastically improved my writing, with a lot of room to improve sure I use LingQ or Duolingo forums to get feedback and improve too

Definitely both One example that comes to mind is languages that have a concept of an 'Auntie/Uncle' by nature of them being a generation older than you Korean, Arabic, etc But not in English (or English speaking Western nations)
