I was at the first US Festival & Eddie Money played on the 2nd day (for those who weren't there - Ramones, the Beat, Oingo Boingo, B-52's, Talking Heads, Police - That was the first day!!! Santana, The Cars, The Kinks, Pat Benetar & Tom Petty - Day 2!!!, Grateful Dead, Jimmy Bufett, Jackson Browne & Fleetwood Mac - Day 3!!!) It was melting on the sun hot & Eddie Money played Gimmed Some Water & sprayed the audience with fire hoses & threw water bottles into the audience (not that would be OK today) He was early in the day but totally had the audience in his hands Eddie was a great show - RIP!!!

The guitar solo by Jimmy Lyon's is so killer and right down the middle of the plate for the song it takes it to another dimension of feeling and emotion I've heard the song since I was 7 and it still holds up as great in any era of music

Back in 2018 Eddie released a new album called brand new day which only was released digital never released on cd & LP Now that Eddie's gone, his widow won't release it on cd & LP It's a great album, what a shame

Most people don't know it, but those two tickets he had in his pocket were for a trip for two to the NorCal Redwoods on a Greyhound bus, because Eddie was a starving musician at the time and couldn't afford a big vacation/trip for his girlfriend
