Gold has actual real world usage Its very malleable and conducts electricity very well The stock market has been known to have net losses every year I would still prefer physical gold rather than shares in the stock market I think land is a better investment though to hedge wealth against inflation and probably gain a little while having relatively better stability

No But it has multiple properties that made it very useful in the past as a monetary commodity Namely its very tight stock to flow ratio which ensures that it’s inflation rate remains relatively low compared to other precious metals It’s relatively high value density And the fact that it doesn’t rust so it can be stored for extremely long periods of time
