I stack Eagles as long as they are sold under $35 vs $30 spot If not Eagles, I buy 90 ConstitutionalbrI do not stack generics or private mint, but I collect pieces that look cool or speak to me (like Silver Shield)brThe bulk of my stack is Silver Eagles and Constitutional, because they are the coin of my country I don't care about counterfeits; I verify everything I buy like everybody should

I'm in FL which has a minimum $500 purchase for bullion, foreign, etc, but no tax on Eagles so if I'm buying less than the minimum, it's Eagles Subbed

The premiums are high, but the price you get for eagles is more when you sell them when silver is hot, and the silver to gold trade is much easier with them Having said that, most of my brcollection is not eagles, due to the high premiums Maples are great, and I love Britannias as well

WHY ???? Why would that beautiful Royal Canadian Maple Leaf - at 9999 purity be so hated when you cash it in ? It would br“ seem “ logical that if ALL the other sovereign minted bullion was 4 nines and the RCML was 3 nines , that would stand to reason But this obviously is backwards ! Someday if this br“ deficit “ comes to fruition , and I was a manufacturer of water purification or a medical device manufacturer - I’d insist on the purist silver , right ?

Start a relationship with a local coin shop If you are polite and don’t ask for “deals” I can promise they will work with you on premiums I have been stacking ASEs for months and the local shop I purchase from knows me by name I always pay in cash and they knock at least $1 off Eagles and $150 off Canadian Maples

Were it not for Costco selling tubes of eagles for just a couple bucks over spot, I wouldn’t own any at allbrTo each their own but I prefer to make my money stretch into as many ounces as possiblebrThis is hard to do if you’re stacking a lot of government bullion, especially overpriced Libertads , I can’t bring myself to buy any at all for the ridiculous premiums

The anti counterfeiting missing reed is a joke A few years ago I broke down and bought a Sigma Metalytics Best money I have ever spent It still has its flaws as its hard to check fractional metal even with the small wand It was still worth the money I have a hard time picking up the audio on the pinger test You are correct that silver eagle premiums were too high at one point I still like the Eagles and they are a large part of my stack

I've always been contrarian for its own sake, so I'm going out on a limb with your torch-holding subscribers: I'm stacking a monster box of ASEs! Giving myself 5-6 years, looking for lower premiums @ $450 and under Sometimes it's cheaper to buy them by the tube I'm only three and a half full tubes in right now and need to get to five before this year ends I also stack Constitutional, 1 oz silver bars to scratch the generic itch, and 10 oz silver bars to add to my weight Sounds like a lot, but I've truly streamlined what I buy in the last year because I was all over the place with tubes that I needed to finish brbrAnother plus about the ASEs is that you don't have to worry about the tax man coming when you sell them--if that's a concern You can sell as many as you want all the live long day and keep that boating accident a big fat secret from the federalesThat's me I'll take the slings and arrows of criticism because the premium doesn't matter to me (as long as it's under $450 per coin! 🤣)
