You cannot depend on precious metal testers all the time They can be fooled also You need to know who you are buying from There are a handful of US MInt approved direct purchase dealers Google the requirements for being a certified US Mint direct dealer of coins The requirements are the most stringent a person can imagine So when you shop authorized US Mint direct purchase suppliers you are buying the real deal When you look into the feedback of online dealers you can also see that these people are right for you to buy from

I've been collecting for approx 50 years and purchasing silver eagles since 1986 I can usually spot fakes by their appearance but I always have my LCS check them just to be sure
