I had so much fun watching this video, wth brI've just dipped a toe in with Duolingo classes, but that accent, man Every language with the growled 'R's challenge my tongue German, French, Dutch brI'm Brazilian, learned English as a second language quite smoothly and Dutch seems close enough, so nothing too complicated, but I fear I'll never sound like them well enough to be understood You seem to boss those Rs around, though 😅

All very well, but babies and toddlers brains are wired to learn language fast The older you get, the more that part of the brain gets ineffective Nevertheless, it's a good suggestion to surround yourself with the language you wish to learn Just try not to 'tune out' like I do

Sorry but the notion that you can learn any language in 6 weeks, to even an intermediate (B1-B2) level, is bullshit Also the baby method doesn't entirely work because the language is too simple for everyday adult conversations as someone who speaks 4 languages (2 natively) This blatant false advertising is infuriating

I tried it and it works Just learning to listen like a baby’s and speaking afterwards has already made so many connections in your brain that it becomes easier for you to speak the language and in the Dutch tone

Omg! I speak german and learned dutch for about a month last year I just watched some videos and played duolingo But I could understand about 90 of what you said! You used some basic words that we learn first in a new language, so it's not that surprising I'm just surprised I remember some of it :))

I think one of the most important things I've learned is that people don't give a shit if you speak Dutch perfectly, they are just happy that you are even trying! Any time I fumbled while speaking people are always very encouraging and understanding that it is a difficult language :)

I grew up speaking english and Afrikaans and I want to learn to speak Dutch, German and Finnish Dutch is sort of easy to understand and read because I know my Afrikaans but I want to actually speak the language like I've known it for my whole life

Whoaw a big hat off! The Dutch "G" sound is spot on! How did you even manage that? Back in the day (WWII) it was a common thing for the resistance to use words with 'G' in it, to be sure that they didn't deal with spies :)
