How much better it would be for patients if they combined dentistry with medical so the two disciplines could be taught at the same schools This would make it possible for dental care to be covered under one plan so patients could get the dental care they need There are a lot of patients who can't afford to see a dentist because they can't afford a dental plan and the out of pocket costs that come with it

Can someone help this non-med bro I had to take my daughter to the er for an arm pain and they found that she had a fracture I was talking to the orthopedic surgeon, and i asked if i can ask him an unrelated question "I find that my daughters ribs are kind of sticking out", our first child i didnt know that these things get to normal with time The orthos response was "I dont do ribs"!!! Is this true or was he trying to not entertain that question?

Honestly speaking medical doctor should atleast know the basics of the oral cavity Many times patients avoid consulting for their oral health because they only think about importance of gen health Oral health is a part of overall health and early diagnosis can save so much trouble to patients As a dentist I've understood good oral health can maintain your overall health This needs to be taught to everyone

I'm a vet, so here's a fun fact: in veterinary medicine, dentistry is treated as a branch of orthopedics and we learn it as part of the orthopedic course I've never been able to understand why in human medicine it's different
