I like Gretchen's books but her intel comes across as dated here like comparing myself to my neighbors and the people around me? I know less about their personal lives than the people who put every moment on social media (or a reality show) Sure you can turn it off but it does seep in I had to get off social media completely Even if you unfollow anyone toxic, they still run ads on your page

Gretchen's books helped me to stick to habits Especially when I found out I have gluten intolerance and small sugar "addiction" but sometimes I have breaked the rules when felt sad I get that she's way wealthier than me, but being open minded helps to not judge a person from a single interview 👀

I think her point about the richest people working the most misses the point that this is because we live in a capitalist society that awards what techbros do, and that they may keep working out of obsession and narcissism Saying it’s because work gets more fun as you ascend the ladder is indeed, shall we say, a very boptimistic/b take 😂 on the other hand, I am a teacher with a very fulfilling career who never has to doubt my contribution to society, while I read over and over of people in the FIRE community who hate their jobs and basically suffer for 10-15 years despite making six figures a year My point is that income does NOT actually correlate to jobs that people enjoy
