A lot of the trades are privileged from the start It's why for the piss poor attitudes of these tradesmen Single digit started from the bottom I've worked trades all over Canada And every single major company I've worked for, they are extremely emotionally abusive to their laborers It's grooming The amount of team leads I've stood up to because of how they communicate to their lower ranks is ridiculous It's 1 of Trades that aren't completely broken, and most have failing relationships with family/friends Wtf would anyone want to do trades I feel cushy in my management job They pay for my gym and massage Unlike Trades

I’m a 22 year old mechanical contractor I’ve been doing this work since I graduated a welding program in 2022, which I started immediately after high school brbrI wasn’t ready to have no friends There are zero ways to meet new people in person these days, and everyone I meet in my day to day are typically closer to retirement than my age

Man you make me miss the Marine Corps a lot 😂 EEEEVERYTHING rang such a familiar bell Them porta-shiters were GOLDEN when freshly cleaned out I remember needing to poop and had no choice to dig a hole in the sand I sat right on the edge of that hole and opened up the gates lol the damn hole collapsed 😂😂😂😂😂 learned a lesson of creativity from that I took old wooden ammo crates, poke a hole at the top of the MRE bag, attached it to the crate and tied it off so the bag would catch my poop Made myself a toilet 😂 i pooped right up under the truck

I was always told “look it or he trades!” (By people who never worked them) I’ve worked in inventory management for engineering and install crews for a few years now After seeing everyone from plumbers to electricians to foreman to HVAC guys, I realized it’s not for me The older ones have bad backs, knees, and joints (more than the average consequence of aging) and the younger ones are beat to hell making up for the older ones constant to having to be out of work for surgeries and morebrbrI have all the respect in the world for these guys; they are so hard working and smart But looking around the work place, there’s not a single person whose life I would want brbrThat’s why I decided to to start working in IT and cyber security

Commerical plumber in Boston doing Rate work So yes its $105/Hr minus bennies But Honestly I’ve been so fed up with everything i just quit my job this week 😂 & went back to my previous Aviation job in Boston All of the things you mentioned in this video is 100 spot on to the T & yet 95 of people will never understand or have to do it Trade work is no joke, & the people that do it everyday deserve way more respect & recognition

I'm working in a manufacturing plant 3rd year now and running an industrial lathe The job requires a ton of memorization since the control panel looks like a Boeing 747 control panel at the beginning when you don't know what you're looking at, you're not allowed to sit or be on your phone while the spinny death machine is cutting through hardened steel like a hot knife through butter because, if that machine crashes, there's a 1 in 10 chance the machine is now broken and a 1 in 20 chance the tool inside on the turret is going to explode, and if you're found to not be paying attention and ready to hit that stop button, you will get your ass chewed heavily by management Just last year, the machine I run had a bar stuck halfway in it and the guy running the day shift was shocked when the bar bent like it was nothing and slammed into the motor and damaged it It slammed into it three times, but according to everyone there, it was spinning so fast that it sounded like one big bang While I may have a static jobsite and decent bathroom, I traded the hell of the porta-potty and the suck of the traveling for working with a machine that will not hesitate to turn me into a bologna mist cloud of red

I worked as a general laborer for a heating a cooling company during a summer while I was in high school Was extremely hard work but so rewardingbrbrI ended up moving on to other things but the senior technicians and tradesmen made a ton of $ and were very skilled That said, some of them were complete assholes, drug-addicted and blew their money every weekend The ones who had their lives in order were set

I’ve worked physical labor jobs in yards and warehouses for years, done all kinds of taxing things in harsh weather, but I’ve never been a skilled tradesmen Everyone says manual labor is awesome but I kinda want out of it… how much better are the trades? Because they just look more exhausting

I started off as a Mason Tender in 1980 I was accepted into my HS Work Study program once I received my drivers license I stayed with this company after I graduated from HS I got my Class A license in 1986, and Hoisting Engineer license in 1990 I purchased the company I had worked for in 1994 with another employee who had accounting skills By 2020 we had between 80-100 employees, and gross sales over 25 million Business exploded during Covid 19 due to the pandemic, and ensuing lockdowns We sold the business in 2024 to a PE firm Over the 44 years, there wasn’t any task I would ask an employee to perform that I hadn’t done in the past I loved construction, but I resented the disrespect I received at convenience stores or any public place while wearing my work clothes

I worked in an office for 10 years, office workers toilet habits can be just as disgusting as tradies A couple of times one of the toilet blocks had to be closed and special cleaners brought in to clean them There were instructions on the doors with rules for using the toilets One of the rules was if you wipe something on the wall clean it upbrWe had toilet brushes in every toilet yet you would still find a toilet bowl covered in poobrI am not saying the facilities weren't better than a portapottie of course they were I am just making a comment on how disgusting some office workers can be

I am an electrical engineer who bought a house recently, I worked alongside my contractor to renovate my entire house I amazed on how tough construction people are, my body was quite broken 3 weeks in, flooring, cement, framing, etc, but he was fine and 10 years older than me, and working probably 2-3 more jobs on the side in addition to mine He worked like a dog, the income he brought in was quite a lot, i was shocked because it was almost as much as I made, but damn his financial choices were terrible I'd see him burn through money, he would drop like $200 in a convenience store trip, smokes, snacks, scratchers sometimes multiple times a day He also was the sole income earner of his family, if he got his finances in order he would not need to work so hard But construction workers have my respect, it's a hard job
