Interesting I just replaced my Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires with the new DuraTrac RT The DuraTrac tires were on my Silverado 1500 4WD for 4 years, and the center of the tread wore out to 4/32" while the outer parts were 7/32" Good info to know

I run falken wildpeak mudders on my 2500 pickup tow 18k all the time and i get 60k miles out of them so i think you are very wrong on your tire assumption

Idk much about it but jeeps tend to be a bit lighter than other offroad oriented vehicles My LJ ('04 unlimited) and my XJ were both under 4000lbs Probably not fully loaded with a trailer or camping stuff, but I used the cooper discoverer series The AT varients are surprisingly good for the price Sometimes the ATs were better in certain situations Im in the appalachians, so I deal with steep, muddy, rocky, slippery trails My jeeps usually made it farther than my buddies' trucks before needing the winch In a mudhole anyway 😂

The engine output torque literally does not matter unless you're comparing perfectly alike vehicles to each other There's so much mechanical advantage change by the time you reach the tread that comparing torque output is pointless when you're talking about stress on the tire

My 24 Subaru crosstrek wilderness is 3200# Has 187 hp and the Yokohama geolander ats are the best for my snow wheeling Love the Yokohama geolander ats been running them since the 90s On ice you drop 10-15 psi and there really good on ice

I’ll throw in my two cents for what I use on my 2000 F250 four-wheel-drive diesel truckbrbrThe best value and performance combination that I found after going through several sets of tires in 24 years is that too 8575R 16 all-terrain tire brbrMy favorite is made in the land of smiles Cambodia by A company named ling long they also are called crosswind tires They are nicely made hold up well and perform really well income with a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty but I’ve never had to usebrI special ordered them online from Walmart for $600 a set which is far cheaper than most the other tires I purchased Mounted, balanced, new valve, stems road, hazard warranty and lifetime balance and rotation for the package ends up costing about $830brbrI’d like to buy American products but I wasn’t happy with the last two set of Cooper tires I went through brbrSo long story short, my preference is to buy a tire that works well but not super expensive so I can replace them every three or four years at the most

People just need to be honest with themselves when they buy tires Off-road looking tires look great, but most people don’t need them Personally I tow a bunch and switching from all terrains to highway tires was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my truck

The bigger problem with tires is load ranges Manufactures seriously lack proper load ranges for the vehicles that they’re being used on A 4 runner that drives around at 5000 lbs does NOT need a 10 ply load range E tire but that’s what majority of them are It makes a massive difference on ride quality and tire weight to have proper load ranges We need to see more of these manufactures come out with proper load ranges for application like a STD, C or D for jeeps, small trucks, and SUV’s

I predominantly tow around 3 tons in the UK with a Korean pickup truck, after using most tyre brands out there, the most stable and safest especially in the wet has been the Maxxis Bravo 771 (205bhp, 550nm)

The center wear comes from running the wrong PSI Yes the door tag in your 3/4 ton may say 80 psi but thats for hauling max weight, which most people dont do I ran 30 psi across the rear of my DRW ford unless i was hauling heavy
