Idk much about it but jeeps tend to be a bit lighter than other offroad oriented vehicles My LJ ('04 unlimited) and my XJ were both under 4000lbs Probably not fully loaded with a trailer or camping stuff, but I used the cooper discoverer series The AT varients are surprisingly good for the price Sometimes the ATs were better in certain situations Im in the appalachians, so I deal with steep, muddy, rocky, slippery trails My jeeps usually made it farther than my buddies' trucks before needing the winch In a mudhole anyway 😂 Comment from : @djangoren2980 |
The engine output torque literally does not matter unless you're comparing perfectly alike vehicles to each other There's so much mechanical advantage change by the time you reach the tread that comparing torque output is pointless when you're talking about stress on the tire Comment from : @chrismawson4430 |
here is the lesson, buy toyos nuff said Comment from : |

I’ll throw in my two cents for what I use on my 2000 F250 four-wheel-drive diesel truckbrbrThe best value and performance combination that I found after going through several sets of tires in 24 years is that too 8575R 16 all-terrain tire brbrMy favorite is made in the land of smiles Cambodia by A company named ling long they also are called crosswind tires They are nicely made hold up well and perform really well income with a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty but I’ve never had to usebrI special ordered them online from Walmart for $600 a set which is far cheaper than most the other tires I purchased Mounted, balanced, new valve, stems road, hazard warranty and lifetime balance and rotation for the package ends up costing about $830brbrI’d like to buy American products but I wasn’t happy with the last two set of Cooper tires I went through brbrSo long story short, my preference is to buy a tire that works well but not super expensive so I can replace them every three or four years at the most Comment from : @jackvance6025 |

Are you drunk🤡🤦♂️ so you’re saying the KM3 isn’t designed for high torque But all serious off-road rigs have V8 engines 🤦♂️🤦♂️ Comment from : @johnphillipsjr7238 |
Yeah Not of the truck bros are gonna listen to that Comment from : @Drunken_Hamster |
So, which tire do you recommend on a 3/4 ton truck that has an aggressive look, has a 3 peak rating, low road noise, great on wet roads and is good for towing? Comment from : @jss8494 |
Have a supercharged tundra that I use to haul my lance camper, use e rated falken wildpeak at4 Those tires have been amazing for my needs Comment from : @rfdsdf1 |
What's sad is he is paid to say this! Comment from : @silversurfer3636 |
Toyo MTs doing good so far on my 8300 lb Cummins will continue to run them Comment from : @Sdukes001 |
What about the BFG KO2? I wanna put 39s on my Wrangler 392, it's a huge tire that weighs under 80lbs so IMO it's perfect Are you saying it's a bad choice because of my Jeep's torque? Also, what's your idea of "high" regarding TQ? Comment from : @Daywalker78 |
i tear up tires before they can ware outbrall of the lugs on my tires get rolled, chipped, cut apart crawling on rocks brand no it is not a “tube buggy” brit is a street legal cj-7 Comment from : @larryjanson4011 |

The lesson is don’t spend all your drive time on pavement with off-road tires brIt think it has something to do with the words off and road but I could be wrong Comment from : @grammarpolice5554 |
People just need to be honest with themselves when they buy tires Off-road looking tires look great, but most people don’t need them Personally I tow a bunch and switching from all terrains to highway tires was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my truck Comment from : @MJ_Bass |
I run falken at3 No problem I dont tow Comment from : @Teamcantcatchfish |
What should I buy for a Toyota Sequoia that we will off road in sometimes but we want good on road and winter snow performance? We won’t do very much towing We are doing new wheels and suspension for it but still looking at tires Comment from : @TrevorLindgren |
The bigger problem with tires is load ranges Manufactures seriously lack proper load ranges for the vehicles that they’re being used on A 4 runner that drives around at 5000 lbs does NOT need a 10 ply load range E tire but that’s what majority of them are It makes a massive difference on ride quality and tire weight to have proper load ranges We need to see more of these manufactures come out with proper load ranges for application like a STD, C or D for jeeps, small trucks, and SUV’s Comment from : @zakikahl6904 |
I want something softer than E load in 34-35” that doesn’t weight a gazillion lbs Comment from : @andrewc1036 |
I love my cheap mud tires Butmy 2008 Ranger has 148 hp and about 165 ft/lbs of torque I think I’m safe😊 Comment from : @alananderson5202 |
I wish my SUV had that problem Comment from : @BlackForestWoodStoving |
I predominantly tow around 3 tons in the UK with a Korean pickup truck, after using most tyre brands out there, the most stable and safest especially in the wet has been the Maxxis Bravo 771 (205bhp, 550nm) Comment from : @J_D_Adama |
before covidbrwent into the tire shop with the old chevy 1tonbrI wanted 10 ply they said 8ply is a better ride and could sell them for 280 a piece brI insisted I wanted 10 ply brthey were 130 a piece Comment from : @andrewsparks4112 |
Km3's suck i had them on my silverado and the compound is way too soft i could literally watch the tires tread fall off, every time i got out and looked at them they lost more rubber Comment from : @anthonys1965 |
Ahh yes good points all around However I mostly buy tires based on looks so if the tread pattern is dumb, prolly not going to buy it I don’t really care if it doesn’t last as long Weekend use, the tire will dry rot before I wear it out Comment from : @malnfc8565 |
BFG KM3 tires are the best Comment from : @adamweber1545 |
The reason the center is wore out of the tread is because your tire is over inflated Comment from : @jarredschatz7544 |
I always buy e rates even for my 1/2 trucks Comment from : @ryanstage3912 |
This fellow has taken the time to both learn what's up in modern tire engineering and to share it!! Comment from : @greenman7yyy |
So what you’re saying is that those are good tires for a 911? 😝 Comment from : @AFTER_MIDNITE |
No I’m not 😂 Comment from : @CzWill |
Can you do a video about Renegade R/t tires ? Just bought some 285/50/22 Comment from : @rbyronson2426 |
I'm pretty sure most know, like you said they ignore it and get what they want not what they should get Comment from : @arronbrown7753 |
A very small minority if people actually use their off road tires for off road activities They are buying the wrong tires regardless of this information Comment from : @asimpson164 |
Just lift everything and double the tire circumference so the torque is halved, next question please Comment from : @googlyooglydoo |
I loved my BFG all terrains back in the day on my ZR2 s10 That truck would run down the road in 8 inches of snow in 2wd I'd run them on my caddy if they weren't insanely expensive for a 35 1250 20 Comment from : @matthostetler5422 |
That HD Terrain is a fantastic tire for newer diesel trucks We have 2 full years of towing on a set of them right now and will stick with them Comment from : @Beehive_Enduro |
What is the best tire for my application?brbrNoob: The big knobby one that looks coolbrbrLOL Comment from : @ycplum7062 |
i could use one of them on my land rover Comment from : @Landrovers1enjoyer |
what tire do i need for a pavement queen? Comment from : @traviscrown9189 |
So I made the right choice by buying the KO3 for my 4 Runner OFF ROAD? Comment from : @alberthechme4001 |
I run HT LTs Comment from : @Ryan-u5f |
More torque in low range Comment from : @tntzimmerman9552 |
The center wear comes from running the wrong PSI Yes the door tag in your 3/4 ton may say 80 psi but thats for hauling max weight, which most people dont do I ran 30 psi across the rear of my DRW ford unless i was hauling heavy Comment from : @DSMattitude |
Toyo M55, my favorite for hauling loads on dirt/gravel roads MY DRW get Michelin highway tires Skip the A/T tires if you can Unless you just want he cool look and don't really care about using your pickup for work Comment from : @lanwickum |
wich a/t you recommended for heavy towing? Comment from : @JABECO2016 |
Trucks make more torque now? A bone stock 454, 460, 440 would disagree Comment from : @scoutdogfsr |
BFG KM3, heaviest is best 51K miles on mine, half tread remaining, still quiet Comment from : @sarahstephens5966 |
I've been running Cooper STT Pro's on an 8500 pound truck pushing around 1000 pounds of torque, I can attest to this being outside the design parameters of the tread Shopping for new tires now actually Comment from : @Redeemed_RC |
If you’re wearing out the center of your tires you have too much air…… Comment from : @jordankeith4110 |
