I wish I had you as my 5th grade teacher My last name started with a W, so I had to sit in the back of the class We didn’t know I was legally blind 20/400 and couldn’t see the board So my teacher would always say to me that I was “a day late and a dollar short” because when he’d write a problem on the board and call on me, I always answered “I don’t know” I honestly thought all the kids couldn’t see the board, except the front row, and we were all expected to do the long math in our heads as he said it out loud I asked if I could sit on the front row Of course the answer was No, because my name started with a W That was in mid-1970s He hurt my heart so many times I had zero motivation to learn from him or to ask a question Zero safety

A little advice on the "What is your weakness?" question Always give an example and remind them that while this is a weakness you have, you are finding ways to improve on that weakness For example, during my student teaching, one weakness I had involved transitioning from one task to the next such as going from a warm-up to a lecture While this is a weakness I have, I am working with my co-workers, using self-help books, etc to improve this and do better so that this will become a strengh

I had the worst student teaching experience EVER!!! After college, I became an inclusive Ed assistant The “As a teacher…” questions got me at first…I soon learned to respond with “As an educator…” it’s much easier to respond that way!

I just graduated in May and had my first teaching interview before I graduated and it didn't go so well I definitely was unprepared Fast forward to the week of my wedding (June 26th <3 ) and I had another interview I had been so busy finishing up wedding planning that I didn't have much time to prepare I knew I needed to do something to help since last time I was so unprepared A couple hours before the interview I watched your video and took some notes I looked over before going into the interview room and I got the job!! i watched this and went over it soooo many times! wrote down all questions and filled in my answers for my interview and practiced like crazy unfortunately, they did not ask any of the questions (i panicked) but winged it and wiggled in some of the answers you went over I ended up getting the job! thank you!!!
