One of the many things about US politics that baffles a lot of outsiders is that the leaders of your political parties don’t loose their position when they do a really bad job, eg loose elections This is different even from other FPP (traditionally) two-party system such as that in the UKbrbrI don’t really know how this functions at your state level, or if it’s different in those states that now have some form of proportional representation But at the federal level at least, it seems like you have a much harder time reaching a level of effective pressure/threat nonviolently than those of us in other systems do
