What about they established the heading WAS 290 4000 feet visual approach to 26 and call sign American 1479 NOT UNDERSTOOD ???? did the jerk want it in another order ??? somebody needs another job other than this !!! Retired enroute controller here The clearance read back must include all information given to verify, especially the call sign Not doing so is at the very least lazy and unprofessional and possibly dangerous No correct read back is not a clearance The pilot needs to grow up I can’t count how many times the wrong aircraft took a clearance and had he not given his call sign I couldn’t have caught the error and corrected it All this goes for controllers also, not just pilots Be professional and vigilant

See, shit like this brings all my anxiety about flying right back to the forefront I don’t want to think the fucking pilot is arguing with the ATC, in the tower, when he should be trying to fly/land the fucking plane safely… So glad I did most of my bucket list travel over the last couple of years because it looks like it’s going to be a long while before I get back on another plane, considering the last few days with the latest plant crashes (DC & Philly, back to back) here in the states…

Pilots come from many nations and train in the USA in English, usually they are rich privileged kids who have an attitude I married one This plane seemed to have two different pilots talking, likely the testy one was the copilot and he was training to become more comfortable in the cockpit The pilot was busy with tasks and likely wanted the other guy to suffer through the exchange
