There is so much more that was not presented to verify a coin Diameter, thickness, weight, all must be close to exact Ping test, magnetic slide test also And for a true silver coin passing all the tests, rigid visual inspection under magnification is necessary Pass all and you have reasonable assumption it is not a fake

Actually many of the fake 7 mace 2 candareen coins I have seen were non magnetic Dip them in a small cup of water held by a string and just do the math to determine they are not dense enough to be sterling silver using a jewelry scale Incidentally there are also fake Chinese silver coins but they are a lot less common

I know of a silver one dollar example that is in a collection that belongs to a close friend It also has the reed mentioned in this video They have had a hard time finding a way to verify if it’s real or not It was discovered hidden in a jewelry box purchased from goodwill The box had a false bottom that held all sorts of foreign coins from the turn of the century ad well as a few post cards Considering it’s origin I believe it’s worth investigating anyway!!!
