I really like the logical method you implemented I speak English and Hungarian fluently It is kinda weird to see someone's struggle learning a language in reverse Meant that my mothertongue is Hungarian, but I learned English at a very young age 16 That is why I find your videos so fascinating Thank you

@Afrikaanse_hulp
Hi Lindie, I am an Afrikaans tutor When doing a writing excercise with my students, for example, if we have to write a letter together, to help them get started, I encourage them to give me a sentence in English and the we translate it together, using Stompi, don't know if you are familiar with that Is this the best way do improve writing or do you have other suggestions?
Comment from : @Afrikaanse_hulp

@Panallpina
Thank you Lindie for your videos, I have discovered sooo many useful resources for language learning through them 😊

Hi I sometimes do this with English, but unfortunately I can't correct it, 'cause I don't know what I did wrong😅🥺😭 (I just can read it) It doesn't stop me either way, after some time it would be hilarious to go back and read how much funny mistakes I made You did pretty well
Comment from : @lonelyfrog5499

@lucie442
What was the first app you mentioned for your corrected notes? Journaly?!
Comment from : @lucie442

@ThePlannerPlaceCo
Great tips! Thank you ✨
Comment from : @ThePlannerPlaceCo

@lostfroggs
When I started posting my writing on sites like Journaly, it took me a surprisingly long time to embrace/get over the slight embarrassment that I felt whenever someone found half a dozen errors in just a few sentences of writing I've always been complimented as a very good and eloquent writer in English and was basically the human form of Grammarly for my friends' writing, but suddenly I was writing in a language other than English, and I wasn't as good as I was used to being I had to realize that the corrections obviously weren't directed at me as a person; these people just want to help me learn, and I put it up there so that they would do that The point that I'm trying to make is that these mistakes and typos that you make and corrections that other people make will only help you get better, and you shouldn't get discouraged or embarrassed by them

@solea59

@alessio272
I think your approach is a very effective tool in learning most of the language in its context This is what I call phase 1 in the language acquisition process brPhase 2 is the speaking and conversion process which requires a different approach Little studying and lots of practice This is typically two years for full immersion brPhase 3 is similar but it’s the understanding process This process encompasses all of phase 1 and 2 In the additional understanding process this requires even more time You will be increase your phonetic accustomization (Understanding everyone who speaks colloquially) This process takes up to 3 to 4 years with total immersion The two elements are watching tv and engaging with the community brAfter all the phases are completed you will begin to think naturally in that language in some cases you’ll be more comfortable in that language than your native

@fenoexnb8759
Hey Lindie, I'm French (so sorry if i make English mistakes 😅), I'm 15 years old and I'm learning Russian on my own (well trying) I watched many of your videos (not all 😄 sorry) and i really admire you (you speak a lot of languages and you're always smiling !! 😊) brSo, I don't know if you'll see my comment (I hope you will 😁) but here's the problem : I am so motivated in speaking languages (russian for now) I know some of the basic words and phrases (and I wish one day I'll become fluent 🤩 but for now I'm very far from it) and I watched maybe a hundred of "language learning" videos (instead of studying, I watch videos who tell me how to study 🤣😂) and even if I watched a lot of those videos, I'm still confused, and a bit lost brI bought a notebook to write things as you do inside, but I don't even know what to write and HOW to write (I mean, I don't know enough vocabulary and the russian's "déclinaisons" (sorry I don't know this word 😅) and a lot of other stuff which could help me at writing) I have a grammar book, I have a lot of language learning apps, and I even have a russian tandem partner (but as we're young and unexperienced it's quite difficult to teach each other) And with all of it, I feel like I'm more lost than at the beginning, so I don't know how to start brThe question is : could you, please, tell me what can I do ? I really need you 😅brThank you and have a great day !! 😄😉I love what you're doing, keep going !!
Comment from : @fenoexnb8759

@michaelshort2388
when you write using the method you talked about in the video (using english words when you don't know the language in your L2) do you still write in the L2 grammar? So for example in korean if you didn't know the word for water would you write something like "이갓은 water입니다"? sorry if this is a silly question :)
Comment from : @michaelshort2388

@jasminedubois6711
I really want to be able to write in Korean It's one thing I want to be able to do I need a better grasp of sentence structure, though and an easy understanding of how Korean is different in reading vs Writing

@sandorguth
Ügyes vagy, és emelem a kalapom a kitartásod előtt! :) Csak így tovább, mert nagyon jól beszélsz magyarul! :) És még a levél szövege is majdnem jó lett nyelvtanilag, egy kettő mondatban voltak ugyan bakik (apróbb hibák); de egy magyar anyanyelvű is tökéletesen megérti, hogy mit is írtál A nomádok földje c filmről ;) :)

Hi lindie! This is not related to the video but it's something i'm curious about 😅 do you listen to korean sermons? If you do, how long did it take for you to completely understand sermon in korean? I had an intermediate level in listening comprehension but listening to sermon in korean is a whole other level to me 😢 my head hurts when i do lol can you give some advice on advancing to that level?

Have u ever thought about being a translater or interpreter? brI also really keen on learning langugaes and I'm fluent in 4 of them However I'm not sure that turnig them into a profession would be a good idea or would it be better to just keep my langugage skills and love of langugaes as a hobby What do you think?

@Kerredise
Thank you for the video! I also learn Hungarian for around 8 months and I am quite good at listening, because I am lucky to have Hungarian friends and colleagues, although I live in Austria (I am Russian tho, but anyway), and my speaking is ok, but I barely practice writing and I regret neglecting it, as well as I feel bad about not learning grammar thoroughly, like, from the book I learn Hungarian like a child, just by listening, memorizing, repeating, analyzing and coming to conclusions about the usage of words based on the native speakers' speech That was not my purpose to learn like this, I am just too lazy But this week I have been thinking that I need to write in HU more, and pay more attention to the grammar Your video kinda gave me even more enthusiasm and motivation ❤️ And your handwriting is just so beautiful, I join to the people writing here about it and say that your handwriting is absolutely fabulous even when it's just some side quick notes - it's still ahhhh beautiful Lindie, I adore your videos with all my linguist heart and I wish us both (and all HU learners) to never give up on Hungarian, this language is a treasure ❤️💪 Thank you for what you do, Lindie! ❤️ Ügyes vagy!!!brPS Hello mindenki magyar aki olvassa ez a megjegyzést 👋 Az anyanyelvetek nagyon nagyon szép! ❤️
