The wife would be cut off financially by me if I were her husband I would pay the bills, buy toiletries, buy food and she would have to learn to be at home with less money in her pocket she would also be required to take a financial literacy class along with mental health services of therapy and psychiatrist besides marriage counseling If the shoe was on the other foot, she would expect that from me If that doesn't work, I'll divorce her and hopefully not have to divide up the assets in half because of her reckless spending habits

My wife is thw same way despite all of her talk of being a big Dave Ramsey fan Early on in the marriage she would run the joint account negative by $300-$500 the day before I got my check knowing that her purchases would clear as soon as I deposited the check I demanded that she stop and now make all of the monthly payments the day I deposit my check and now withdraw the remain cash and keep it in a secure location She now has roughly a $10k/ month income from a couple of side hustles and maintains her own account along with 15-20 credit cards in her name only with numerous pay in four and other layaway type products and is always strapped and stressed about money She contributes nothing at all to household expenses and even stuck me with the payroll tax for her side hustle last year(my income is investment related with no taxes owed)
