Even when the odds are heavily stacked against them and stand a chance to lose everything they are most likely going to take the chance The constant expectation of a chance taken to rewarded also gives the hypothalmus the signal to release plesure chemical called dopamine Im no doctor and might be wrong, though this is my understanding of it
