Through this video you are showing your confirmation bias I am also a teacher who came to teaching through engineering I have found that many things assumed in education are simply false Go the the brain or psychological evidence of you want the real answer Veritasium is only one source, but if you are open to real research, you will find most of evidence says that learning styles "aren't a thing" Yes, you can engage a students by varying presentation styles, but to affix a style to a student will only do them harmbrbrExcuse me boss, I read the new directive and don't understand it Can you act it out for me because I'm a visual and auditory learner? Flemming argued that an educator should not 'overly rely' on one preference or style or adopt a more appropriate style for that lesson, topic, or theory This has been misunderstood for years by educators A combination of approaches will always be best, not just focusing on a preference Comment from : @twistedsparky06 |

Direct instruction and appealing to all student senses are best Discovery learning helps only with certain situations that lend themselves to discovery but this is only to provide the student with a general understanding Comment from : @TheLastOutlaw-KTS |

The video you review is one size fits all Always a lie!! It leaves out the Autistic population who have to transpose everything into pictures in their head and those who also have major ADHD who get distracted easily and the autism which is easily over stimulated easily It requires a combination of methods used which brings you back to the information and uses all senses Comment from : @hollyrexroat8839 |

I have never heard neither a student or a teacher even talk about learning styles is such a categorical way ever But it's seems rather obvious it's counter-productive to even try and make a student identify as one style in the first place as it may subconsciously convince themselves they can only learn in specific ways when they had probably never ever even thought about it before being askedbrbrI guess it's a concept that may be more prevalent in certain subjects I just teach mathematics and statistics Comment from : @dataandcolours |

rubish dude u get a dyslexic student and try and give them the work that most kids use i bet they would strugle this idea that all students are the same is dangerous Comment from : @brendonrookes1151 |

The only technique that work is love I remember my math teacher, I was terrified of her, couldn't learn a thing during her lessons Had to revise and relearn material on my own at home, it worked The other teacher I remember was my English teacher, I felt safe around her, she was consistent, very calm, didn't have any problems with learning during her lessons The only technique that works is forming good relationships with students, one aspect many teachers forget Comment from : @bednar1991 |
