I remember when my mother died, I was told that I was now in the “club” Club? Yep It is when we lose a parent and become part of a population of grievers who support one another Indeed, it has turned out that way Until you are a member of the “club” you don’t totally understand the loneliness that can pop up at any given time If you speak to a non club member, though empathetic, they just don’t understand as we didn’t understand while our parents were still alive But while grieving, if you talk to a club member, they don’t pull any punches sayingit will pass with timethey don’t lie to make us feel better Unfortunately, it is a “club” that nobody wants to join and yet none can avoid I lost my mother on Easter Sunday in 2013my best friend (though more like a sister) lost her father on Easter Sunday two years later She later said that she had no idea how painful Easter had been for me during those two yearsnow we grieve on that Sunday together by talking about our parents and how lucky they were to go to heaven during the Easter feast We remember how when they closed their eyes for the last time on earth, they opened them for the first time in heavenmeeting our Savior God bless them both God bless you and yours Dr Amen May the peace that surpasses all understanding wrap His arms around you during your most difficult moments God love all of you Comment from : @opal777 |
