I find it hard to still feel like a beginner even though I went to school for animation for two years It’s been difficult for me but I’m dedicated to get better, it’s just progress been so slow I think I’m one of those artist that need a mentor cuz I get bored real easily

If you're looking for a drawing tablet for something like krita, i recommend the HUION H610 PRO V2, its like $52 USD and it works perfectly It doesn't have too many functions but it is fantastic for something so cheap If you want a very easy introduction into digital art, i recommend it No need to spend $300 on a wacom tablet that you can't properly use yet (plus wacom is insane price wise)

My problem is that I already am an artist and thats what I study but I have a hard time making progress Everything I draw starts good but goes downhill with the lineart because my sketches are too chaotic and I cant pull out their true potentials I can only draw animals but as much as I would love to illustrate my D&D characters I really cant I struggle with drawing poses and I struggle with faces, I cant find motivation and so I draw less and less and don’t improve at all It’s killing my passion and I hate myself for it

if only it was so easy i wouldn't burned everything and gave up after 5 years because a little kid still draw better than me The real way on how to draw is to have the fortune to start very young or have a talent for it because if you start actually late like me (im 24) well good luck with that

I really want to get into character design, so that I can bring the character in my story to life The moment I try to start drawing the skeleton I instantly lose patience I've been able to draw things that has taken me a few days or weeks to work on But when it comes to character I can't even get passed 5min of a rough sketch 😮‍💨😓

Hey Marc Should I stop copying completely when I start learning the fundamentals? I feel like learning the fundamentals is like trying to "empty your cup" and so you have to unlearn your previous skills so that you can acquire new skills which means you'll have to just stop copying and start learning the fundamentalsis that really the case though?

Yep this is what i have wanted to know for a while because wanting to be good at something is great and all and telling people to work on the fundamentals before they even have a reason to practice all of it IMO is self defeating You are essentially trying to reach for something you might not be interested in and waste your time when understanding what you want from the beginning would actually give you a place to start and slowly improve
