Thanks for this video I just bought a table and have to transport it from Marrero to Kenner I was thinking of letting a professional move it but it would double the cost of the table (maybe more than double it) After watching this video I think I can do it I’m going to watch the other videos as well I think you just saved me a bunch of money I might give you a call anyway to get a quote in case I end up over my head so I’ll know how much my incompetence will cost me 😅 Thanks again! Thank you for the info! I do have a question however, the table that I am looking at purchasing is a 1920s Brunswick I was told that it was a single sheet of slate I guess my question is is that something common for that time Or are all tables set up with multiple pieces of slate? Thanks again Comment from : @timbarker7585 |

Moving pool tables fucking sucks I am actually a professional mover with several years of experience I've moved everything, I even specialized in pianos for a bit and worked at a Piano moving companybrbrPool tables are my least favorite common household item to move I'd rather do a gun safe, two baby grands, a bunk bed, or a hot tub Pool tables are hard to balance, rails are fragile, and they can weigh over 1,000 pounds I have one today, it's an 8 footer We aren't disassembling anything, just using a fixed dolly and a lift gate Not looking forward to it Comment from : @brendanmichel5313 |
very detailed, thank you Comment from : @gregpushman5793 |
I am picking up a gold crown III in two days and never moved a table before Any tips on pinned slate removal? do I just wiggle it but not up and down? maybe a rubber mallet? should I strap down the slate for bumps in the truck bed with rachet straps? Comment from : @fu1168 |
Thanks for your videos helped me out a ton Comment from : @TomRivera-wf8fo |

4 guys in our 30s, removed the legs from a newer slate 8 foot table, carried the table up finished basement stairs, into a moving truck and into the basement of a house 30 miles away We reattached the legs, and it was as good as new I realize this video says "the RIGHT way",; and perhaps we were lucky I was giving my pool table to a friend, as I was moving out of state, so all of the work shown in the video was not worth it to either one of us Comment from : @kwebster62 |

Thanks Doug, your videos are great brI spoke to you some time ago and sent you some pictures of my Brunswick 75 anniversary table We need to move it roughly 450 miles from PA to NC Some of the roads are very rough and there isn't any other way out and into the areas The side rails of the table are 9' long and don't break down any smaller than that best I can tell We have the table disassembled now and I plan on moving it after Christmas I am planning on renting a 6x12 boxed U-Haul I noticed you said to build a create and put in the trailer vertically I can and will build a 3-section cage to hold the slate as tight as possible and strap to the walls of the U-Haul I really don't have any other way to move because I know my truck isn't big enough and I don't want to move in an open trail per some of the comments I read before I have several questions for you if I may: br1) would I want to wrap each slate in a moving blanket? br2) what would I want to have the bottom of the slate sitting on? 2x6 or ???br3) the table is going to be stored for maybe 1 or several years until I refinish all the rails and aluminum pockets and skirts They are in rough shapebr4) How do I store the slate until I'm ready to put back together Does it have to be in a climate-controlled environment or in NC and I ok if it isn't brThank you for your timebrDale Comment from : @trd-s3d |

This was perfect! The homeowner assumed we needed 3-5 people to remove the pool table but two of us did it by just following your video The hard part was getting the slate up a stairway with a 90° bend but that just took a little more time Comment from : @JTTeske |

Thanks for the video! Question, since the rails come off as two units is there a reason why you'd continue breaking them apart? Seems like keeping them together would save assembly? Comment from : @csiaudio |

Great video! So hopeful! One question I'm taking apart a fairly new Brunswick Contender table this weekend, and I'm not sure if the slates are pinned If so, will the pry method still work for the slate separation, even with bondo or plaster of paris? I'm not sure how the table was assembled yet Comment from : @ChrisMonty44 |
Thank you Comment from : @tonywoodford9119 |
Gonna give er a try, thanks! Comment from : @scottrehak4076 |

Hi, thanks for posting your videos I don't know if you'll see my comment but a few questions I'm finding hard to get the answers to are; can I move my table a few inches this way or that way without dismantling? , And I see you have a rug under that table, our table is on tiled floor and it doesn't have a smooth sound as the ball rolls, could we slide a rug under to improve that, again without dismantling? Comment from : @candiceblack86 |
Why couldn’t you just put the pool table on a trailer and drive it to your new house? Comment from : @NaySeld |
