unfortunately, all these tips are probably useful to middle-level guitar players for the beginners they are useless, as almost all the tips and tutorials in internet the only thing that matters is the time that you spend learning and playing guitar yes, it is boring, but only hard work and time makes the results my only advice to myself 30-years ago would be to find a good teacher and spend at least 2 years 2 times per week for guitar lessons Comment from : @sanyvaa |
I heard your buttons hit the back of the guitar at the beginninghaven't you learned not to wear buttons while playing guitarlol Comment from : @film2sound |

First time viewer -- well done To your closing request, good guitarists are always curious and able to learn -- even from complete novices who don't necessarily know what they're doing brbrTo wit, a few years ago, I met up with my son in Phoenix to attend the wedding of my niece I'm near Chicago and he was in LA He had the good mind to bring his new guitar that he was learning on his own Although he was a pretty solid drummer, he began playing some interesting chords that amounted to moving more variants of CAGED around the neck, without barringbrbrHe couldn't have known that his unrestrained play unwittingly opened a new area of pursuit for his old man to improve my bag of tricks Consequently, my "novice" son provided his considerably more experienced dad a sweet guitar course over a couple days I just encouraged him to keep playing for me so I could enter in and further expand my worldbrbrGood guitarists never dismiss those who may (appear to) be less-accomplished Keep learning; you may find your next lesson in the most unexpected place Comment from : @danielgorski8722 |
im glad you kept it in even if you are insecure about it man it made me smile and feel a lot better about myself doing that all the time and might explain the "guitar face " for most of us lol Comment from : @Thephantomewell |

Just started your course after not playing for about 22 years, Paul It has certainly shown me a) how good I was in high school (I'm 35) but also, b) how many bad habits I had, and c) how much useful skills I'm actually learning from your lessons compared to the hundreds of dollars my mom spent on lessons to play along with my guitar teacher to Iron Maiden Great work! Comment from : @Rad-is-Rad |
If I start practicing all notes on the neck now im dead before im finish 😅 I play only chords and it works fine for me, rhythm and the right feeling is most important for me 😎 Comment from : @kalleandersson926 |

I walked into a guitar store in Portland, Oregon in 1976 wearing my beautiful Levis Jean Jacket - with all the rivets and metal buttons I asked if I could play the beautiful Martin D-28 on the wall The store owner said…sure you can play the Martin But first you gotta go outside and burn that coat No way was he going to let anyone play any of his guitars wearing a coat with saw blades festooned all over the front I cringed every time one of your buttons “clacked” on your instrument 😂 Comment from : @jimcoon |

Don't buy a floating bridge guitar when you don't know how to change the strings properly on it I think I lost 8 years of potential practice because I couldn't properly change the strings and put it away Comment from : @aboomer420 |

Hello sir! thank you for yor lesson at number 4 when you talked about the chords, how did you know which chord is a majorminordiminished? can you make a lesson about it please? Comment from : @משגיחמשגיחים |
Don't know what others think but personally I'm trying to savour not knowing the notes on the fretboard for as long as possible I feel like understanding notes as numbers specific to the key you are in is more useful I play piano and it's harder to play stuff without thinking about the notes as they are alot easier to see I now crave for understanding the melody as it's relationship with the chords and not the notes themselves Comment from : @jacobg1219 |
That’s fuckd up im from PA Comment from : @patrickparks2042 |
Your vocals were genuinely more enjoyable to my ears than hers, as good as she was Also, I got so much out of your explanation of triads, super helpful! Comment from : @law_wren |

Literally just picked up an acoustic guitar 2 days ago Now found your channel I’ve put a couple hours in so far Comment from : @jeffhabib6673 |
I’ve got fairly thick hands, and my pinky is really stumpy shortbrMakes certain chords impossible to play because my skeleton prevents me from bending in the way that it should when playing a guitar brI’m so jealous watching some you (more reedy thin and elongated people) who can play chords without a problem brThere’s a chord I really battle to play - the D6 chord brI’ve been playing since 1994, and I still can’t get it 🤣brSo frustrating brI’ve found ways around it using a different chord but it’s just not the same brbrCheck out Dominik Miller’s shape of my heart He uses the D6 brGrrrrrr Comment from : @Domzdream |
Thank you, you exude patience, knowledge and common sense I am just beginning this journey for myself, to relax and have fun learning something new that I have wanted to do for quite some time Thank you for the motivation Comment from : @jerrymckissen1617 |

I know this is a pointer video, but Couldn’t help but appreciate this man’s multi shot angles the multiple camera set up makes the video appear higher in quality also how the scenery changes from time to time, and the lighting… phenomenal Not to mention how great these tips were, keep it up brother❤️✌️ Comment from : @marcustorrez9278 |
Your a funny guy brother and thank you for this lesson 🙏🏾 Comment from : @Villykatagmailcom |
Haha Paul, the "roast me in the comments" bit gave me a good chuckle For some reason i assume you're dutch and i can relate to your cringing at your skaterboy-alto teenage self That style was such a fad over here in my teenage years I'm now 34 and just starting out learning the guitar and have to say your content is invalueable Thank you! Comment from : @hallmountfilms |

God loves you❤❤We need to repent and believe in Jesus❤❤GIVE GODSOM TIME EVEN IF IT'S 15 SECONDS❤❤GOD LOVES YOU❤❤LUKE 10 19 ,PSALM 23 4 YHE DO I WALK TROW THE WALY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH I WILL FEAR NO EVIL❤❤ Comment from : @poster_nbason3818 |
Rythm is so important, i toom way too long to really practice rhythm Something that really helped me want to practice rythm more was purchasing ez drummer 3 for my daw, having good drums to play with makes it so much funner to practice rythm, and time signatures If you already have a studio with a daw and studio moniters Ez drummer was such a game changer for me, it makes riff writing and even just practicing so much more enjoyable Comment from : @brycemooreguitar |
You killed me with that reference to "The Office" 😂😂😂 Comment from : @albanberaud3952 |
Hey Paul, I've recently picked up my guitar for the first time in over a decade so I'm basically starting from scratch, and my kid's 5th bday is coming up in a few months so I was hoping you could point me to a tutorial to play Happy Birthday(and maybe others) in the style you played Twinkle Twinkle at the end of this video with the chords and melody I haven't had any luck searching around myself, so if you could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it immensely for your help making kids birthday extra special Comment from : @VenomVsTRex |
You lost me on music theory@! I had that in elementary school but as a senior I’m so emerged in arpeggios and fingerpicking and some scale work that music theory and learning the fretboard seems impossible when cognitive issues wane and speaking as an artist, this music part of my life may have to be something i just enjoy till i leave this earth verses accomplish excellence as you youn’ens do Thanks for grace Comment from : @lisavento7474 |
