Im sure there are some great pawn shops still out there But, from my own personal experience, pawn shops dont care about what you got I brought them a brand new, never played left handed Fender Mustang guitar and they offered me $500 I laughed as I walked out They said, thats not a rare guitar Again, I laughed because, yeah, a left handed mustang guitar isnt rare, right? LoL

You can't find a good guitar at a pawn shop, period Anything they take in that's worth anything and is not redeemed, they put on eBay Go into any pawn shop and look around When it comes to guitars, all you will find is low end Chinese knock offs and broken stuff Junk ! They know as well as you do that if they put it on eBay they will have millions of people looking at it instead of just the 40 or 50 people that come thru their door every day That Les Paul was probably a Chibson knock off The good stuff is listed on eBay

Thank God for the internet and smartphones so you can check these things out Growing up in a world without those things and it really was the luck of the draw with pawnshops You either trusted their words regarding whether the guitar was legit and the price was right or you walked away Now we can check the serial numbers and in some cases can track that specific guitar as well as checking to see what the average market value is We were in the dark all those decades ago These guys are overcharging but that's to be expected you negotiate a better price and so on That's how this works I'd bet a kid today wouldn't have the social skills to do that

Dave and Guy was it? knuckleheads at best , a guitar is only worth it's playability if out of a pawn shop and actually any guitar shop You should never buy a kid any cheap guitar to learn on ,it's a punishment to expect a kid to learn on a piece of poorly built stuff

So if I'm selling a $1000 worth les paul studio guitar, I would expect roughly the $250 range only if its in perfect condition? My friends told me it be around 50-70 for some Pawn Stores or was that just a joke :3 On Average perecentage what do most Pawn Stores buy instrumentals at its actual price appraise? 10-30 or what?
