When i was little, maybe 6 months old and younger, my mom (who can hear) taught me basic sign language like more, give, hungry, stop, enough, things like that, so i could communicate She still brags about it 💀

She's incredibly frustrated & u can see it intensify the longer she can't hear them She's not old enough to comprehend the incongruity between their happy faces & their mouths forming words, but there's no sound She's maybe 6 mths old & is incapable of grasping what asl even is, let alone understand that they're talking to her

She’ll be able to communicate better and faster with her grandparents teaching her ASL than she will be able to do speaking with her parents Babies gesturing skills come much quicker than their verbal skills It’s a good thing g to teach your child ASL even if you aren’t deaf
